We don't have any excursions planned for Nassau--when we did the Wonder 4 night in 2003 we went to Blue Lagoon, and I'm not interested in Atlantis. My son (17)is kind of interested in seeing the pirate museum, though. We were going to get off the ship for a brief time anyhow; how far is this place and is it worth the trouble?

I walked past it (didn't go in) with my father off a Carnival cruise a couple of years ago. It was probably about a ten or fifteen minute walk from the cruise terminal. We're on the Magic next month and seriously considering the pirate museum.

We enjoyed it. I'm glad we went with another couple because there are some very dark places in there.

When u ask "worth it"--- do u mean for the price? For the time spent to get off the ship and walk? Its a small museum... Cool displays. I think it was like $10 pp to get in.

For me, we don't think expensive excursions are "worth it"... So something like the pirate museum works for us. We got off the ship for like 3 hrs and it was a good short activity for us. It was a little scary for our then 3 yr old but our older kids ( I think they were 6&8) liked it.
The admission price is OK I guess. Nothing too crazy.

Just be aware if it's your ONLY destination, they close for holidays (as we found out the hard way). My daughter still says we have to go back to Nassau just so we can go there since it was literally the only thing we planned to do in Nassau and it was closed for Bahamian Labor Day. This year it's June 3. Here's a list of Bahamian holidays :) http://nassau.usembassy.gov/holidays.html

my 10 yr old son and i went in Sept 2013 and enjoyed it. maybe a 10-15 minute walk at most, interesting displays and things to read. it inexpensive, doesnt take too long, and interesting if you're kid is into pirates
