Nassau Harbor cruise or Pirate Museum with teens?

We will be sailing in October with a 12 year old and 15 year old. We would like to get off briefly in Nassau, but don't want to do a long excursion of any kind. Has anyone done either the Pirate Museum or the Discover Nassau Harbor Cruise? If so, do you think they were worthwhile and something teens would enjoy? Is the Pirate Museum and easy and safe walk from the port? Any other suggestions of shorter things we could do that day? Thank you!

Get off, walk around and go back to ship.

On TripAdvisor, check out the Pirate Museum. Then look at the Junkanoo Museum. I have done neither, but the Junkanoo seems more interactive. And a better example of life in the Bahamas.

The map says it’s a 15 minute walk. Allow 1-2 hours at museum.

Drumming seems like more fun than looking at pirate relics.

Closed Sundays.

Yes the museum is very close walk from the port. I find Nassau very safe. Just know that there are a lot of people working and they will try very hard to get you to take their taxi, or go on a tour with them, etc. I find a firm "No thank you" while NOT stopping works just fine. Once you get away from the entrance/exit to the port it settles down. I get off and go a few blocks from the port every trip and do some shopping. You could also walk with them to the Queens Staircase. My girlfriends and I did that a few years ago. Climb the stairs to the top to see the fort up there.

We are thinking about the same thing for our Disney Dream cruise in October. Since Nassau is the first day on our 4 night trip, we are debating just staying on the Dream and just enjoying the ship while the ship has fewer people on it vs visiting somewhere near the ship. This will be our 5th cruise with Disney (1x Magic & 3x Wonder) and 1st on the Dream.
