In Nassau, Bahamas what excursion would you recommend?

We are currently considering Atlantis Aquaventure but it seems like you are paying a lot to only be there 4-5 hours.

We want to leave the boat in Nassau so just looking for suggestions!

TIA!

Can you tell us a little bit more about whom you're traveling with? Big kids, little kids, adults...?

Did the Graycliff Chocolate Factory tour. There was only 6 of us there, so we pretty much got a private tour. You get to make your own chocolate bars. Really enjoyed it.

Second vote for the Graycliff Hotel Chocolate Factory Tour. We've done it twice now and enjoyed it just as much as the first time. No problem bringing the candy you make
back to the ship.

Do you book the chocolate factory tour through Disney or privately?

My wife booked it through Disney. I think you could book it privately, but for Sunday, you could only book it through the cruise ship. We docked there on a Sunday, so we didn’t have a choice.

We just did the Graycliff tour and chocolate making and I honestly don't think it was worth the money. Maybe it was just our group, but there was no tour and barely any explanation of anything related to cacao, the equipment, etc. We essentially put on caps and gowns and were ushered into the chocolate making room (allowed to use a spoon to taste white and dark chocolate first).

In the room we each picked a chocolate, which they brought to us (melted and pourable) in plastic cups. There was some confusion as we were only offered dark and white and someone asked about milk chocolate, and we got an "oh yeah we can do that" and then half the group switched. Milk chocolate must not have been ready as it seemed to take forever for them to come back with it.

The first part of the tour was pouring the liquid chocolate into a mold, then you could add coconut, almonds, chocolate chips and a few other things into it if you wanted. There was a piece of pineapple you could dip in the chocolate and eat. While the bars were cooling we were told to use the extra chocolate and add-ins to make balls of chocolate on paper on the table, which everyone did and those were cut out and taken to cool as well.

That was pretty much it. We got to put the chocolates we made in a plastic bag and tie it with string and then the bus took us back to the port.

I’m interested in this as well. Have any of you done the VIP Luxury Day Sailing (N15)? Looking for something fun for 2 adults and 2 teen girls other then Atlantis.

Might partially be your personal preference and also partially your group. For the latter, it probably depends on the tour guide and the size of your group.

We got the tasting of the three types (dark, milk, and white). We also got an explanation of all of the different refinements of the cacao beans to get to chocolate. We also got to taste them in the different states (in the same room where you sat at the tables). There was also an explanation of cacao producers and chocolate makers (e.g., the chocolate from nassau isn't grown in nassau). We also got to make the chocolate, but the tour guide asked which ones we wanted. No one in our group chose white chocolate. It was either milk or dark.

Of course, in our tour group, there was only 6 people, so we definitely got a lot more personal attention. There were at least 3 tables and we barely filled one table.

I'm jealous, your tour was more what I was expecting!
