Whatever you do don't stay at the Hampton...we stayed a night there for all star weekend then switched to the Omni.
Just keep your eyes peeled but rates will prob jump for Omni especially once they actually announce New Years which should be after July 4th
What was wrong with the Hampton Inn?
We will be in Nashville for two nights in January and this time (we stayed in a cabin at Evergreen Farm just outside Nashville last time) we want to stay within walking distance to Broadway so I've been researching hotels and we're considering the Hampton or Doubletree on 4th. Doubletree is $122/night with our AARP discount, or $170/night for a junior suite. Haven't been able to get rates for the Hampton yet for January. I can't even imagine paying $300, $400, $500 for a night in a hotel. I just can't see spending that much just to sleep. We've stayed in a lot of Hamptons and most have been fine, so just wondering why you say not to stay at the one in Nashville.
I'm sure the Omni would be nice but I'm just not willing to spend that much. But being within walking distance to the honky tonks on Broadway would be nice. We enjoyed several of them last time, but didn't enjoy the drive in/back to the cabin.

) Anyway, while checking Memphis, DH noticed the big Cypress Lodge was in a pyramid. He sees a price of $239/night & says, "That's cheap! Why aren't we staying there?"
Evidently, I've talked more about our Nashville plans than our Memphis plans, because I had to explain to him that Memphis is cheaper than Nashville & we booked Peabody Hotel in Memphis cheaper than that rate. After I showed him the location of the pyramid, he decided he'd rather go for the location of Peabody than stay in a pyramid.
Obviously, cheap is a relevant term depending on what you think you're already paying.
That is, if there are any rooms available that close to NYE.
person. Nothing new has been posted yet.
