DD and I are going for one night - arriving super early to tour Vanderbilt and then have the rest of the day and evening to explore.

Should we try and use the bus system? (From the airport to the hotel, hotel to university etc)
Is there a BEST place for us to stay that’s easy/safe to get around?
What are a couple of MUST DOS?

We need to be at the airport by 8am the next morning so we need to pack it in!

Must Do
-Johnny Cash museum/experience
-Grand Ole Opry
-Nelson Brier Distillery Tour
-Antique Archaeology (American Pickers store) and surrounding area. Near the Nelson Brier spot. Whole area is pretty cool and minutes from Broadway
-Old Glory (hangout/bar that isn't cowboy but is one of the best venues I've ever hung out in)

I had a very positive experience at Homewood Suites, which offered a shuttle that can take you 2 miles anywhere you want (which would get you everywhere above if i recall). never had a bad time in Nashville, perfect smaller city for a fun night or two.

edit - also, I believe that Homewood is right near the Vanderbilt team store/bookstore and not far from the campus
