I was looking at the thread about short hop DVC'ers and saw a lot of Atlanta members. How about TN members?
We are seriously considering a move to the lovely Franklin area in 2006. We will be taking our spring break there to see the town again (last time we were there was about 8 years ago!) and to check out schools and churches. It would be really fun to know if there were other DVC 'ers from around there! ::MickeyMo

we live in hendersonville on the lake..............and southwest has a hub here......we get cheap MCO tix all the time...........

We're about 2 hours south of Nashville but visit often....ok, maybe not QUITE as often as we did before the NHL lockout, but we still go quite a bit for shows at the Bluebird Cafe if nothing else.

We live in Pegram; which is about 15 minutes west of Nashville. We like it here. Far enough away from the hustle but still close enough.

sure do miss the preds to but we have the Kats back to fill the void a bit.............

We've missed those pred games this season too but hopefully we will get to take in some Kat games this year. We enjoyed going to their games when they were here before.

I've got a friend that lives in Hendersonville. It's a nice community.

For any of you around Nashville who might be having hockey withdrawals, we have both a minor league team and an NCAA Division I team just 2 hours south of Nashville. Many of the Predators Booster Club members have been coming down for games. In fact, the weekend of Feb 11 & 12 they are playing double headers and one ticket gets you two games each night. :) Anyone interested in more info, just drop me a PM.

We're from Memphis.
Its a really long drive for us.
I wiah we could get cheap airfare, but Northwest seems to have a lock of flights.

Hey everybody!
So do you all fly cheap from Nashville to Orlando or drive? How long does it really take to drive?

i fly..................all the time.........

Southwest runs some good sales every so often and other airlines usually match. We drive to Nashville often when we fly anywhere since fares are usually cheaper.

We drive but we are kinda a road trip family. We just put the little in the back with the portable DVD player and it is off we go. We have flown before but prefer the drive even though it takes us about 12 hours.

I'm about 1 hour north of Nashville in Bowling Green, KY. Nashville is a great place; we go often for shopping and eating. We drive to Orlando from our home and it takes us around 12 hours with a few short stops. I wouldn't recommend driving quite as fast as my DH drives to get us there that quick!!!

I live in Nashville just north of Franklin. (I lived in Franklin until three years ago)

It is a great place to live, but for job reasons I am packing up and moving to Atlanta.

I have never done the drive to Disney. I either fly SW or Delta, both have direct flights. Just depends on who is cheaper.

CarolA- I hope your move works out well for you. My sis currently lives in Metro Atlanta and I am in the process of trying to lure her to Metro Nashville to be closer to us. She loves Atlanta, so I doubt my persuasion will work.

Tn is a lovely state and in a lovely part of the country. We live in Memphis and my daughter lives in the Knoxville area. We love both areas but plan to retire to east TN someday. Memphis airfare is not very good to MCO. Northwest's hub is here and they never give good airfare. It is the only airline that flies without a stop. Nashville is a great place to live but the mountains of east TN have our hearts. Good luck with your trip here.
