The next race is a Talladega Superspeedway on SUNDAY, October 23rd for the "Alabama 500"!

Qualifying is set for SATURDAY, October 22nd. Please make your picks before qualifying is scheduled to begin.

Talladega Superspeedway has a lap distance of 2.66 miles. 188 laps raced will show a total race distance of 500 miles.

This is the 32nd race of the season and the 6th in the chase.

Talladega is one of my favorite races. It never seems to lack excitement, and it always seems to have at least one multi-car pile up!

This year, there are 12 drivers still in the chase. That number reduces to 8 once the results are known. I thought I'd post those 12 in case it helps in your strategies when making your picks.

What a WILD week at Talladega! Did we get "THE BIG ONE"? NOPE!

We had a couple blown engines that hurt a couple drivers.

We had 3 of the top 12 in the chase that seemed to be playing it safe in a 3 car mini-convoy.

WE had a nail biting battle between 2 of the 12 in the chase that ended in a tie where a tie-breaker was used.

The 4 eliminated were:

#3 - tied but lost to the tie breaker.

#2 - blown engine.

#24 - didn't finish high enough to break into the top 8.

#78 - blown engine.

Had to be tough for the #78 after the year he's had. Showed a lot of class. Then, I have to mention the #4. He could have played it safe but he battled hard all DURING the race.

He battled hard AFTER the race too!

All in all, a great race. Our scores were a little rough though. I'll pst the results as the picks were received:
