Narnia Coming to WDW?

Well, my idea of a ride/attraction would be a ride based on escaping the White Witch on the sleigh. Another one could be a 3-D battle scene attraction.

If they did a Narnia area, an escape from the white witch ride could work. Perhaps a log flume, perhaps being chased by wolves.

Escaping the White Witch in a log flume? This has roller-coaster platform written all over it!

Here's an idea, how about a Matterhorn tipe ride for Narnia. Think about it, in the que area you could have people walking thru the wardrobe closet into the snowy land of Narnia. Then you could take people up into the mountain and as the coaster started it's journey downward. You could start off being chased by the white witch and her wolves and as the ride progressed the snow inside the mountain could gradually appear to melt. You could speed thru the final battle seen with arrows appearing to fly over head. The ride could finish with a return thru the wardrobe.

While Narnia might very well fit into Beastly Kingdom, I wouldn't want to see an entire land themed to just one franchise/series. Beastly Kingdom needs to come on as Beastly Kingdom. (But I'm not holding my breath at all.)

I also would love to see BK come to life and I think a dark Narnia ride could be one of the main attractions.

I have confidence Robert Iger may bring back some of the great ideas that were on the drawing board pre 2001 and nixed because of lack of funds.

Here is a little info about BK:

Before AK was built one of the lands was supposed to be Beastlie Kingdomme. Because of budget cuts Disney delayed the building of Beastlie Kingdomme and built Camp Mickey and Minnie and put the show lion King in that area to keep the area ready for Beastlie Kingdom.
My understanding is that because Lion King and Camp Mickey and Minnie are so well liked that Disney scraped the whole idea of Beastlie Kingdomme.
They really had some great ideas on the drawing board and many people would like to see them become reality. I use to fear the chances of that happening were slim.

Now with Bob Iger as the CEO I once again have hope.

In an article I read by Paul Torrigino, contributing writer (introduction by Mark Goldhaber)
Paul tells about how he worked on a project for the Animal kingdom.
He spent 2 years helping to plan the Dragon Tower ride. (a thrill ride)
It was going to be a suspended coaster ride inside a castle complete with bats and a dragon.

There was going to be a restaurant on a little lake with mythical sea creatures.
The Loch Ness monster was going to appear every so often. Bubbling would start up in the lake and then the monster would slowly appear.
Sounds so cool.
They were also going to have, Fantasia Gardens, a bridge called "Billy Goat Bridge",a Unicorn Maze, a Mother Goose's shop, etc., that all over the land.

He said, "I remember after they shelved it, I watched the guys crate up all the pieces, very sad. They probably still have it all in a warehouse somewhere."

I for one hope they get those concepts out of the warehouse and build BK.

Here is a thread about Beastlie Kingdomme:

I still think they should just re-design the are to be Narnia. But those old plans would be cool. I also think they should just incorporate Camp Mini-Mickey and the Pocohontas show into a larger North America or even New World land complete with the rumored Grizzly Bear attraction and, if its the New World, and Amazon River ride with jaguars and whatnot. Put Lion King in Africa where it belongs.

I must say I hate Lion King. How many ways did they shove it down our throats it was running similtaniously at MK and AK. until they put in the new 3D show in its place. Now it is on Broadway. I must say that having seen the short Beauty and the Beast Show and then having seen it in the theatre it is long but NOT substantially different IMHO. So dump Lion King...let people see it in the theatre and make Beastly Kingdom then we are ALL happy.

I think you're in the minority regarding the Lion King show. Its hugely popular.

I actually have never read these books. Does the dragon play an important role in that book at least?
It's ben a while sence I read the books, but I believe so. I mean, the main character in that book (Eustace) gets turned into a dragon for much of the story, so I'd say it's pretty important. You really should read the books, they are wonderful.
