LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla., Oct. 27 /PRNewswire/ -- The four young stars from Walt Disney Pictures and Walden Media's highly anticipated release of "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe" joined Florida Department of Education Commissioner John L. About the Attraction

In the great tradition of Disney attractions which immerse guests in their favorite movies and stories, Disney-MGM Studios will host an exciting walk-through experience based on the Disney Pictures and Walden Media motion picture release, "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe," opening on Dec. 9 worldwide.

For fans of C.S. Lewis' timeless adventure, and for the worldwide audience who will be entranced by the new movie, Disney-MGM Studios transforms a soundstage into the frozen world of Narnia, taking guests behind the scenes of the movie-making magic of the epic film.

Guests will enter the frozen world of Narnia through a giant wardrobe and be surrounded by a wintry landscape, enormous trees, and a replica of the lamppost as seen in the movie. In the distance, they will see the house of Mr. Tumnus, one of the central characters, beneath a rock bluff outcropping and the White Witch's Castle. All in all, guests will feel as though they have entered the magical world of C.S. Lewis' story.

Guests will exit through a gallery that showcases elaborate creatures, costumes, armor, maquettes, storyboards, props and set pieces used in the making of the film.

The attraction, "Journey Into Narnia: Creating The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe," is scheduled to open Dec. 9, day and date with the film's debut worldwide.
Anybody hear/know anything about this? It seemed to have crept up on me and don't remember anybody here saying anything about it...is this a permanent attraction, or just for a year or so; I'm hopefully going to be at WDW in February and might make it worth it to go to the Studios for longer than an hour (just kidding...it takes me at least three hours to go through everything there).

Also, is it still referred to as the Disney-MGM Studios? I though they had dropped the MGM partnership.

There have been rumors about this for a while, but this is the most detailed description that I've heard/seen. I believe that this is going to be a temporary exhibit, but 'temporary' at WDW seems to mean 6 months to a year, so February should be safe to see it. I'm actually hoping that it will still be up when I go in September 2006.

As for the Disney Studios/Disney-MGM Studios, there have been rumors there for some time (several years, in fact), but so far I've seen nothing definitive.

Wonder where it will be? I hope to God they don't put it where "One Man's Dream" is, because that would be criminal. I suspect that it will probably go through that section of warehouse that was part of the backstage tour where you went through on several levels, and they had that area where two kids from the audience took part in a "Honey, I shrunk the kids!" demonstration.

Mitros, I think you are right. There should be enough room beyond WWTBAM for this. Originally, I thought it might just become the new post-show for the backlot tour, but I think you got it.

When I was in Disney World last year. They had the set to the Haunted Mansion at Mgm. Maybe that is where they would put it. (Very close to One Man's Dream.)

Whoa, I forgot about that spot! Yes, it is right next to One Man's Dream. I guess that would be a good spot as well. I recall the line for that Haunted Mansion display went around the corner where the line for the who wants to be a millionaire show is. One problem I recall from that was that there was not really much of a space for a line back there. In fact, the line for the Haunted Mansion display only had about a 25 foot ropped off area. Beyond that was just some open space until you got to the line for millionaire.
