Tell me about it!

How's the food? The atmosphere?

It's just me and my husband this trip for dinners. We've only been to Park Fare at GF before and are interested in trying somewhere new!

I am sure I am in the minority, but dh and I went there for our special anniversary dinner. It was a terrible experience. We were seated at a table right by the bar and next to a noisy toddler. They knew it was our anniv Noted on the reservation.

The food was overpriced and not good at all. My dh laughed when his app. came. It was such a small serving. Our anniv. was barely recognized by our server. I timed it so that we could see the fireworks. I really didnt want to go outside and watch as I have mobility issues and add cancer on top of that etc.

Lets just say it was a forgettable evening.

We tried Citricos for our dinner next time and it was fantastic. From our server Wade to the food etc. Just a great all around experience.

We are booking Citricos again for our anniv. this year.

My cousin also booked Narcoossees and didnt enjoy it either.

We were not on the dining plan and paid oop with a tiw discount. I think it would have been a real waste of 2 credits for sure, but that is my opnion.

Good luck deciding.

My husband and I ate there a year and a half ago and enjoyed it very much.
Narcoose's is right down by the water and has windows that overlook the lake. We arrived before they opened for dinner, so walked down and sat on the dock for awhile. When we went back up to the restaurant, we were met by name and shown to a booth by the windows. There was "Mickey confetti" sprinkled on the tablecloth and when we were presented with personalized menus, it dawned on me that when I made reservations, I told them we were celebrating our anniversary.

The atmosphere is more casual than elegant, but very nice. It was quiet and relaxed. From where we sat, we could see the Magic Kingdom, the Contemporary, and the Polynesian.I don't remember exactly what we had, (I think we had very large scallops), but whatever we had, we were very pleased. Our server was super. It was all very nice.

Ok, now I need a tie breaker response! ;) :teeth:

Thanks for the input. I like to hear both sides.

I was debating Citricos instead but we liked this menu a little better.

We went twice last year & enjoyed it . The food & service were great. IMO they have the BEST dessert on disney property ALMOND CRUSTED CHEESECAKE :worship:  :lovestruc !

My husband and I were there last month and were also celebrating our anniversary. We also timed our visit to see the fireworks. We enjoyed our food very much (my DH had the filet and I had the whole maine lobster, and the cheesecake was Amazing) our server left ALOT to be desired and our anniversary wan't really acknowledged except a paper menu with lady and the tramp on it. The atmosphere was really nice, and we enjoyed a table near the window that had a partial view of the fireworks, if fireworks are your main objective request a table withna full view for sure! I think if we would have had a better server we would have enjoyed it a little bit more but it was a good experience. Oh we were on the deluxe plan so we didnt pay ouy of pocket but it was the most expencive meal we had (and we went to cali grill and artist point)

So far, this is the only Signature place that we have been. Our trip was 5 years ago, so keep that in mind. We loved Narcoossee's and after dining there we said we would do it again, but our upcoming trip is all about trying new places, so we aren't repeating anything.

I am from New England - have lived here pretty much my entire life - and I love seafood. I ordered the Whole Maine Lobster and I absolutely loved it. It was perfectly cooked.

The Electrical Water Pageant went by while we were dining and while we didn't have the perfect view, they had dimmed the lights and we were able to see it very well considering that we were sitting in the inner circle of the dining room.

We also enjoyed the walk over. The grounds of the Grand Floridian were beautiful, especially at dusk.

Haven't been there in 20 years. It was noisy, and the service sucked. Don't remember the food, but we wanted to like it because the location is nice.:earsboy:

We were there last year in May. We were a party of 8, five children in that number. Our waitress was the most wonderful person. We had a problem with our Dining card and she spoke with a manager. They corrected the problem within minutes. We had been told several times elsewhere that there was nothing that could be done. Then the food started to come. OMG!!!! We had Whole Maine Lobster, Filet Mignon and Surf and Turf. The very best we have ever had without a doubt. They paid attention to every detail. When the fireworks started at MK, the lights dimmed, music was piped in, the kids went outside to watch and the meal service was stopped so everyone coud enjoy. Everyone of us LOVED the whole meal. Again, our waitress (you know who you are Z) was the very best!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We were just there last week. The view was wonderful, right by the window, saw the fireworks and electric water parade. The service was wonderful. We had the cheese tray as an appetizer, it was very good. We had the whole Maine lobster which I would not recommend. It was very chewy and over cooked. The sides were good and desserts were wonderful. Don't order the lobster and you will be fine. We have eaten there before and had excellent food but we were disappointed in the lobster this trip.

We ate there last June. We had a table not far from the windows. We ate at an early-ish hour (5:30 or 6:00) on GayDays Saturday - but it was, nevertheless, not terribly busy. I guess all the boys and girls were still up in the park. The service was marvelous and the food was really very good. We would happily return there.

I've eaten at Narcoossee's several times and all of the experiences were really good. I ordered the Maine Lobster and all of them have been cooked perfectly. Other entrees we've tried include the surf and turf and the flounder; both of which were really good. The appetizers (we've tried the calamari and crab cakes) are really good. For dessert, our favorites are the chocolate mousse and the cheesecake.

All of our servers have been really good, but the one on the last trip was outstanding. He really knew the menu, took the time to chat with us for a bit, and gave excellent recommendations.

I enjoyed watching the fireworks from the table and from the veranda. The music is piped in, so you hear the soundtrack as you see the show. Some tables have a better view and there is the possibility that folks out on the veranda will block your view.

Overall, I would heartily recommend Narcoossee's. It's one of my favorites and my family plans to go back on our next trip.

Thank you all for the replies!:thumbsup2 I appreciate the input. (both good and bad).

We were there twice last year and won't be back .I am the firm believer to give a restaurant a chance as we all get bad days but they got my chances. Both times the surf and turf wasn't good and one of the time we were 8 ordering it and only 1 was ok. when came time for fireworks, a lot of people head outside and park themselves in front of the windows which is normal but still making almost impossible for the ones still enjoying their meals to enjoy the fireworks without looking at people butts outside. We prefered by far Citricos

It's not bad--but not that good either. It's near the bottom of my Signature restaurant favorites. The only real thing in its favor is location.

We loved Narcoosee's... Great food and charming atmosphere. However, my husband and I both agree that Citricos is the best signature restaurant on property (we've eaten at most, but not all of them). The service has always been awesome and the food is AMAZING. The short ribs and chocolate banana tart are just ridiculous! So if I had to choose just one I would go with Citricos. Also, I've found it to be much quieter than Narcoosee's. Good luck, I think you will be happy with either choice :)

We walked in to Narcoosee's last May, got a table in about 15 minutes, and had an excellent meal.

Service was outstanding, food was cooked to perfection.

Had crab appetizer and shrimp appetizer.

Flounder and filet cooked perfectly.

Great desserts as well.

Large table for two, but didn't get a view. We were able to go out before dessert to watch fireworks.

Wine was also perfectly suggested to go with dinner.

And then, we only had two dining credits left, but they didn't want to take our money! We managed to pay anyway and left very happy.

We will go back.

We've dined at Jiko, California Grill, Le Cellier, Artist's Point, Flying Fish and it's near the top of this list.

Narcoosees is my least favorite of the more upscale dining experiences at WDW. It's very casual, noisy, and neither the food or service is on par with the amount charged. The lobster is the worst I've had.

If you want fish, bluezoo is the best on property. If you are limited to dining plan places, I'd pick Citricos.

Several regulars here that I greatly respect have already chimed in with their opinions - and they aren't glowing. However, I've had some pretty good experiences here. I will say that as Signatures go this is a bit more relaxed or casual (extends to the food/service) than the others. I'd probably go to Citrico's instead if I was after a really elegant meal.

You may want to check Narcoossee's menu here on the DIS.
