We've gone there several times with very young children and had excellent experiences. I do find it helpful to make reservations for right after the restaurant opens; I think people are much more forgiving about Disney fine dining around young children when it's around 5 or 5:30 vs. 7:30 or 8. (JMO) And in my experience, young kids are much less likely to melt down earlier in the evening. To maximize your chance of success, try to have your child nap - or at least decompress - that afternoon before going to dinner.
It's Disney, you can take your kid anywhere ; ). We've done many signatures restaurants with our daughter since she was 2 1/2 and it's never been an issue. She knows at Disney the parks are for her and food is for us and we will all get plenty of both ; )
Sure. We've dined there several times, and my daughter was only 2 the first time. We eat dinner early (between 5-6:30pm) and I think it's wise to go with an earlier time to avoid having a tired, cranky kid.
As long as your child is good in restaurants, you'll be fine, especially if you go early. We took out 3.5 year old at 5:30 and it was great. Great kids menu and she loved looking at the water.
I wouldn't hesitate to take a young child to a signature restaurant. As PP's mentioned, I would make sure to schedule an early reservation and try to make sure the little one naps or at least rests at some point that day.
My 15 month old went to Narcoossees in November. It went well. Just keep in mind that signatures take a long time. My little one started to get bored around dessert, so my husband got his dessert to go and took him outside to run around rather than risk him melting down and disturbing other patrons.
We took our 15 month old. The staff was amazing! Very sweet and engaging with her. They brought her food right away so we could get her situated and content before enjoying our food. They also made her a special fruit cup for dessert which kept her very happy at the end of a long meal. We definitely felt welcomed there and not at all out of place. I believe our reservation was a 6:10pm.
