Love that you did what I did! We got married on the day in between our birthdays-3 celebrations in one week!

I loved Jiko's:love:-we went for my birthday (the day after my anniversary). I had the ostrich and loved it! We booked earlier in the evening and it was a little slower and we sat right at the cooking area and received some of the most amazing service and they all talked to us and told us about where they were from and why they came to Disney. They gave us an amazing chocolate raspberry mousse for my birthday along with explaining how the food here differs from their native lands (Morocco, Jo-berg, Cape Town, and Nigeria were all accounted for there.)

Maybe you can help me:

This time for our anniversary, I have booked Victoria and Albert's Victoria room but I am debating changing to Narcoossee's. What would you do? I loved Jiko's and wanted to go back but my DH wants to try something else on our quest to eat our way through Disney. I eat everything-he hates anything but steak and pork.

Please tell me what it is you love about Narcoossee's?

Honestly, we were looking at Narcoossee's based strictly on reputation....and input from other boardies. We've eaten at Cali Grill on our last trip, that was WONDERFUL!! In your situation, I'd keep the V & A ressies.......that one is on our list "at some point", but not this trip!! Maybe if I can swing a mommy and daddy only trip, we can get our serious dining on!!! Tell you what, I'll trade you Jiko for V & A~~~

Keep V&A and ditch Narcoossee's. Narcoossee's is alright but it is not near the caliber of V&A, especially for a special occasion. JMO

Love Jiko's. Bottom line you should go there-especially in the earlier range, like 5 or 5:30. You get the freshest things, as they are just finishing prepping for the dinner rush. (Used to be in restaurant biz) The chefs are less frazzled and really make sure you have the best in service!

The only reason I was considering Narcoossee's was for the view of the castle and fireworks that night. I think that view would be better than staring at the walls in V&A's.

I had the best steak of my life at Narcoosee. I have had good meals at Jiko in the past, but for the past three times, food has been uninspiring and service was the PITS. I mean service was so bad, we talked to management and had our meal comped twice. Don't think I'll be doing Jiko again for a very long time.

Please keep V&A. We've eaten at V&A many times and it's guaranteed every time to be absolutely outstanding. None of Disney's other restaurants even come close.

I love them both.... if you want seafood - I say Narcoosees - my hubby and I get the surf and turf and have them replace the turf with scallops . But if you want a great filet.... then its Jiko all the way! OMG the filet and mac and cheese is die for.... I love both and make sure we do both for every trip we make to WDW.

It totally depends on your tastes. You can't go wrong with either really if you have reasonably adventurous palates.
