Narcoossee's timing, wishes

Trying to finalize ADR plans for our Feb trip. This is an anniversary trip, and we decided Narcoossee's for our special meal of the trip. This is the last night of the trip. We are staying at the Polynesian in a standard view room.

Should we time our ADR around wishes? If wishes is at 10, is a 9pm ADR what we should shoot for? Or maybe 8:30 and be finishing up around 10?

Would it be just as good to eat earlier and watch Wishes back at the Poly beach?

I'd shoot for an 8-8:30 ADR. That way you can take your time and really enjoy your special meal. There's also the electric water pageant that you can view from Narcoosee's around 9:15 if you're interested. I've read the Poly beach isn't what it used to be for fireworks view now that the bungalows take up so much of the beach, so I don't think it would be as enjoyable as Narcoosee's veranda, but it would be convenient since you are staying at the resort.

GREAT choice on picking Narcoossee's for your special meal! That's my favorite Signature location - just love it. My family actually had Christmas dinner there last year and our ADR was one hour prior to the start of Wishes. It was just perfect with how the timing worked out because we ordered calamari (which was incredible) then we were done with our entrees by the time fireworks started. They pipe in the music and the view across the Lagoon was pretty spectacular. Loved every second!

Enjoy your time!

I have also read that the view of the fireworks from the Poly beach is okay, alabeit a smaller beach area, but as good a view as before. I personally would eat a bit earlier and be ready to watch Wishes from the Poly beach. Then I am back at my room after Wishes on my last night.
Enjoy your special night

Narcoossee's is one of our favorite restaurants and we have always enjoyed the view of the fireworks from there. If you want to see Wishes while dining I would make the reservation about 75 - 90 minutes before the fireworks are scheduled. You might have a table with a view or you can go out on the deck since people stand in front of the windows and obstruct the view from the tables.

As far as the view of fireworks from Narcoossee's or the Poly beach, it depends on your preference. The Poly beach is more straight on to the MK, but farther away. Narcoossee's is at an angle, but closer to the MK. Both places pipe in the music and Narcoossee's will dim the lights. Narcoossee's also has an excellent view of the Electric Water Pageant, but you will have to go outside to the deck because its music is not piped in to the restaurant.

I have viewed the fireworks from both the Polyenesian Beach and Narcoosees. I think your best bet is to view them from the boat launch or deck area at Narcoossees. It's a spectacular view and a perfect way to end your special night. If your not quite done with your meal, the servers are great about timing the remainder of your dining experience around the fireworks if you choose to go outside and watch.

I have a Narcoossee's reservation at 8:00 pm one night of our trip. I figured that would be decent timing for both the Electrical Water Pageant (9:15) and Wishes (10:00) if we really took our time with our meal. I figured that even with reservations, we might have a wait anyway. Do you think that makes sense? For those of you who have been there, was that your experience?

Typically it takes 90-120 minutes for a signature meal, depending on how many courses you order and because service tends to be more leisurely. Also, if you are going outside for the Electrical Water Pageant that will take additional time so the 8:00 reservation should be fine.

We had a reservation 45 minutes prior to Wishes. Asked for and received window view. Beautiful view of the castle! Then 5 minutes before show started a mass of people showed up and stood right in front of our window. We ended up going out to watch.

I would plan at least 90 minutes early. We like a 2 hour window but we like to enjoy special meals. NsrcoosseesNarcoossees is my new favorite!

Yep, pretty much every time we've been at Narcoossee's, the view is blocked by those out on the deck. The only time it didn't happen was during one unseasonably cold spell when the temp dropped into the 30's and 40's so virtually no one went outside! :rotfl2:
