Narcoossee's - questions about viewing Wishes

I'm taking my parents to Narcoossee's for their 45th anniversary in mid-September. Our ADR is at 7:30 PM, and Wishes is at 8:00 PM that evening.

For those who have dined there and watched Wishes, do most diners go out on the deck to watch Wishes? My understanding is that the deck is open to non-diners as well. How crowded does the deck get? Do I need to go outside before 8:00 PM to save us a spot at the railing? Do the people on the deck completely block any view of the fireworks if we stay seated at our table?

People do tend to block the view from inside tables. But the deck has never been to crowded. Make sure to tell your waiter you will be watching Wishes they will hold your food for you.

I'm not sure, but I think it was only on Fridays, and we will be going on a Wednesday. I don't see it offered on the Disney website anymore, though.

We have watched Wishes from inside the restaurant & outside on the deck.
It's our favorite restaurant onsite & always a must do for us.

If you are seated by the outside wall, plan on going out to the deck to watch Wishes. I've watched Wishes from the inside wall tables several times. The angle is such that you can see over the heads of the people on the deck. From the upper level tables, you can see Wishes, but will lose the ability to see the highest fireworks.

The outside deck is never really crowded. When I was there in November, they shooed people who were not eating at Narcoossee's from the deck about 10 minutes before Wishes began.

I would also plan on going outside to watch fireworks. I haven't the deck to be super crowded, but if you do want a railing spot with a centered view, I would plan to go out before Wishes starts. The railing spots do fill up first.

You can try to watch Wishes from your table, but I would not count on being able to see very much. The guests out on the veranda do block the view of the guests at the tables. In the photo below, there were two kids standing at the railing. If the one to the right had been standing up straight, he would have blocked our view of the castle. If it had been an adult, it probably would have been even harder to see around them. The only time I've seen the veranda empty was one December evening when it was really cold outside.

If you're seated inside, inner row of tables on the first floor, you can see the higher fireworks, but you'll miss out on some of the show. It's not ideal, but if you wanted to stay inside, I would actually avoid the rows of tables right by the windows.

Thanks to everyone for the helpful tips! I think we will probably go outside by the railing if possible. I think I care more than my parents do about seeing Wishes, ha ha, but it will be their first time seeing Wishes, so I want them to have the complete experience. It should work out well for us to have a cocktail and maybe an appetizer before Wishes - perfect!

The timing for the fireworks should be just about perfect--you'll probably still be at your table. If not, Narcoossee's doesn't regulate who watches Wishes from their balcony, so you should have a lovely view either way.

The outside has had people blocking the view of people seated near the window inside. I feel that outside viewing is best. Once, a young couple proposed outside during the fireworks. The fireworks were in the distance as the gentleman was on his knee. When they returned inside, the entire restaurant rose up and gave them a toast.
It was amazing.We were celebrating our anniversary,too. What a memorable Disney moment!
