I know they are both great..... but if you had to choose one (for our honeymoon!), which would you go with? My fiance and I are not seafood lovers but we do like steak! Narcoossee's sounds like a fabulous atmosphere, but I have read so many great reviews for Jiko.... help!

listen to the dis unplugged podcast from march 27 (i think), kevin klose gives a very nice, and in depth review of narcoosee's.
jiko sounds better for more adventurous diners, while narcoosee's is less so. i'm sure you can get a nice steak at both places.

The chicken flatbread, tenderloin and mac and cheese, and the chocolate Pistachio creme brulee at Jiko was the best meal I have ever eaten in my life. Narcoose's was good and I do love lobster but I don't think it was anywhere near as good or memorable as Jiko.
Enjoy whatever you decide!!!!!!:)

Jikos was one of the best meals I ever had. Everything was delicious. I also had the Pistachio Creme Brulee and I dream about it to this day. I always want to go back but it is not DD's style. I thought about forcing her to go this trip since we are staying at ALK this time.

I would go with Jiko. If you're a meat lover you can always get a great filet. We've always felt that Narcoossee's was the weakest of the signature restaurants food-wise.

OK, I never recommend people go to a seafood or Africian restaurant for steak. You might consider Yachtsman Steakhouse (YC), Artist Point (WL), and Shula's Steak House (Dolphin),

With the above comment I assume that you have never had the pleasure of enjoying the filet at Jiko's. I admit to having not experienced Artist Point or Shula's so I cannot comment on those but both my wife and I found the quality of the meal and the experience FAR better at Jiko than at YS. In fact, YS is the only restaurant we've eaten at in WDW so far where I actually sent the entree back. I won't bore you with the details but suffice it to say that we haven't been back there since.

BTW, it's an african-themed restaurant. My best guess is that the filet is of distinctly american origin ;) .

Personally,I would get the wine room at the California Grill

Jiko, hands-down.

The meal we had here was easily one of the top three dining experiences of our lives. See if you can do an appetizer sampler and dessert sampler... it's chefs choice, but well worth the gamble in getting to try a little of everything on the menu. Fantastic service. Great wine list.

Jiko is also THE best filet I have EVER had. Incredible! Better than Yachtsmans, better than Artist Point.

You'll love Jiko! You do not need to be an adventurous eater to enjoy Jiko. I am FAR from adventurous, but I loved the dinner we had at Jiko.

Here's a link to a page on my web site, the first several pictures are from our dinner at Jiko, including the first picture which is of the incredible flatbread appetizer! http://www.brownfamilyvacations.com/html/May2006restaurants.htm

If you want to see more of my pictures (Disney resorts and restaurants with a ton of food pics), click on the link to my main page in my signature, then just scroll down and click on "Disney World Vacations". Enjoy! :sunny:

Haven't been to Jiko, but ate at Narcoossee's 2 weeks ago. It was "OK". I read nicer reviews of Jiko by far. Enjoy!
