Narcoossee's Lobster Options

So even though we are six months out, I'm thinking about what we might order at Narcoossee's. Last time we ate there (4-5 years ago?) the surf and turf with filet was included on the dining plan, but now that it's an upgrade we have several folks who might go just lobster. Anyone have experience/preference between the twin cold water lobster tails and steamed Maine lobster? I don't have a good sense of the difference. Thanks in advance.

I asked about this when we ate there recently. The waitress said that the twin cold water lobster tails were frozen and the Maine lobster fresh. That sealed the deal for me. 😀

Now - this may be the case? But consider basic Physics:

Unless the Maine Lobster is flown in DAILY, from Maine? It's going to HAVE to be frozen. Perhaps not as long, but it must happen.

So my question on difference would be: "Is this Lobster flown in DAILY"?
You are suggesting that the waitress told an untruth?!😉

Could it be flown in alive?

Sorry from the east coast and this is wrong. It can be flown in and tanked when it gets there and still be live for some time. Living in TO Canada we have a great store that flies in twice a week. No issues and fresh.
That said the process to flash freeze these days has improved greatly. So frozen can be very yummy to. For me i prefer the whole lobster. But twin tails will get you more meat.

Seafood is flown in daily all over the country. There are plenty of restaurants and grocery stores in Texas that have live Maine Lobster, so I'm sure Florida isn't a huge challenge.
Boathouse has a Crab-meat (blue crab) stuffed Maine Lobster. That's our go to for Lobster at WDW.
Baked Crab-stuffed Lobster - Maine Lobster, Jumbo Lump Crab, Grilled Asparagus, Melted Butter $48.00

We always get the Whole Maine Lobster. This last time, this past May, my DH ordered the twin tails. They were delicious, but nowhere as delicious as my whole lobster. Plus, fresh is always better than frozen.

Of course they can be flown in alive. As long as the proper shipping method is used, they will arrive alive. Trust me, just google it. :)

I stand corrected (sort of?). YES, this could be flown in alive. But that is the exact question I would ask, of great staff....
"Is this Lobster Flown in, alive".

Now, rather than an "untruth" - nope, more a question of information. GREAT Servers are great SERVERS - not necessarily great experts on Restaurant ordering/logistics :).
Wife of a Maine commercial lobsterman here.
Lobster MUST be alive and then steamed / boiled. You DO NOT want a dead lobster prior to cooking. Lobster is flown out every single day of the year from here to all corners of the globe, Disney World included.
