How long does a typical dinner at Narcoossee's take?
We definitely don't want to be rushing it through it, but we are planning to book the Grand 1 for a 9:00 departure.
There are two reservation times available for our date: 5:45 pm and 7:20 pm. Which one would be best? We're trying not to have a lot of down time between dinner and G1, but don't want to be cutting it close with the 7:20 reservation.

For Signature meals, you should budget at least 1.5 hours.

7:20 happens to be right in the middle of Narcoossee's busiest time, so you might not be seated exactly on time and the food might not come 100% promptly. However, if you let your server know that you have to be done by 9, they'll do their best to hurry things along.

5:45 might be a safer time, but you'll definitely have extra time between your reservation and the Grand 1.

It depends a little on who is in your party, how many courses you plan to order, etc. For my family of three adults, a three course meal at a Signature takes between 1.5 and 2.0 hours on average. I haven't found Narcoossee's to be particularly fast or slow, so given you schedule, I would plan on the earlier time to be safe.

I guess I left out a couple of important details. It will just be my fiancee and me with three courses.

Mods: I just realized that this might need to be moved to the Disney Dining Reservations subforum.

I would take the early one. I HATE feeling rushed, and that would definitely be in the back of my mind.

A nice leisurely dinner, bottle of wine, desert, cappuccino....

I would also suggest the earlier one. Would not want to feel rushed for such a nice meal. The GF is beautiful. After dinner you can walk around the resort and sit in the lobby and listen to music before your Grand 1 ride.

I think you are cutting it too fine with the 7:20pm reservation. We have dined here many times with two adults. While we like to take our time and relax, we have never finished under 2 hours. Sometimes we have had to wait 15 + minutes to be seated during busy times. You want to be able to enjoy the meal, not be looking at your watch and feeling rushed. I would take the early reservation, then walk around the resort, listen to the music in the lobby.

Hi going in January and have reservations on dh birthday. made reservations for 6pm. WDW closes at 8 and fireworks are scheduled for 8 as well. do we have a good chance of still being there to see the fireworks? should I change the reservation to 6:30?

Yes, you'll be fine with the 6pm reservation. The viewing is best out on the deck, and you can go there during and after your meal.

Earlier was the way to go. A pleasant walk around the grounds or a drink at Mizner’s will help to pass the “down” time!

Definitely a good call on he earlier reservation time...Hit up the bar at Citrico's after dinner and a walk around the grounds, the bartenders there are great for conversation :)

I would take the early reservation. I like an adult beverage or two with a nice relaxed dinner. A walk around the resort after is nice too.

We generally plan about 2 hours for a signature dinner. We enjoy a leisurely meal. we will usually do an appetizer, entree, maybe dessert. Often a glass or two of wine as well.
WE see many other tables leave long before we do, so everyone clearly doesn't spend as much time.
