I understand that Narcoossee's has a suggested dress code but I'm wondering how most people who dine there actually dress for dinner? We're not looking to go casual - instead, we'd love to get a bit dressed up for our anniversary dinner. I have a long dress that's a bit fancy (not a formal) and my DH would wear dress pants and a collared shirt. If I wear a fancier sort of dress will I feel awkwardly overdressed?

People wear anything from shorts & tees to business casual. My DH has worn khakis with a polo, short sleeve button down or a Mickey Hawaiian shirt. I’ve worn sundresses; capris & a nice top and a longish sundress. Wear whatever makes you happy. Except for 1 man at California Grill who was in pistachio green head to toe (it really stood out), I’ve never given a thought to what other diners were wearing. And happy anniversary!

If you dress as described you will not feel out of place at all. We celebrated a milestone Anniversary there. We had the perfect experience. I can’t ever go back because it could never be that perfect again, kwim? Happy anniversary and enjoy the magic

i usually wear a pair of nice slacks and some sort of john lasseter shirt and dw wears a nice dress or nice slacks and top;

I'm glad I'm not the only one who won't go back to certain "amazing" restaurants because I'm afraid of tarnishing the previous experiences memory. 😆

We went a few weeks ago and dressed nicely. You will not feel out of place. I feel that it is nice to dress up every once in a while for a good dinner.

I refuse to pack pants or slacks when we go to Disney. It's shorts only. At Narcoossees youll see everything from t-shirts to fancy. I've never seen anything turned away, even if they don't meet the dress code

Dress up and enjoy!! I wish the dress codes were more strict for the non-park upscale sit-down venues that folks use for celebrations. We dress up and make our special meals our own celebration experience. I think special seating would be nice for such occassions. Happy Anniversary to you. :cool1: (Note: We are always willing to wait for a more private seating option if we arrive and are seated in a noisy or middle area at Signature venues. This does not place a burden on the Disney organization as they sit someone in your place and you just wait a few minutes for a quiet table.)

Thanks for all the anniversary wishes and great advice! While I respect that everyone can do what they want in terms of dress, I am happy to feel more confident about packing my fancy dress. :) I will also keep the advice about asking for a more private seating option in mind.

We're not going to the parks on this day and it will be easy for us to get ready. We're staying at the Poly and figured on a quick pre-dinner drink before we stroll over to the GF (if the path is open) for our reservation. We simply want this to be a special evening and dinner for us and dressing up is part of the experience.

We go to Narcoossee's on every trip! And we always dress up. My husband usually wears a button up shirt, and I wear a dress. We never feel out of place being dressed up there. I feel like most people are more dressed up at Narcoossee's.

We ate there a few years ago and everyone in the family dressed up a bit--khakis/collared shirt for the boys and dresses for the girls.

I would wear a well tailored dress of any length with little or no embellishments such as sequins, bugle beads, rhinestones, etc. To my mind it would fit the setting well.
Happy anniversary to come and may you have many more!

Was the bride beautiful? The groom handsome?

If we saw you there, my wife & I would gladly buy your and your beloved a bottle of Champagne for taking the time & effort to show you still care about the little things.

Congratulations.

FWIW, I almost spoiled the surprise proposal when I asked our Server why that other table had a special flower arrangement whilst dining at Be Our Guest....he was marginally better than a Beast, and she was a Beauty - who said, "Yes."

Magical Moments at Disney.....wear the dress that makes you feel most beautiful.....he may even shave for the occasion.

We ate there in April. Like most restaurants, you will see all ranges of attire. I wore khakis and a polo shirt and didn't feel over or under dressed. Many in t-shirts and shorts, some fancier that we were dressed.

I loved your reply - it's so important to my DH and I to care about the little things and celebrate all the important moments in our life together. A couple of years ago we had a magical trip to WDW planned and the week before we were supposed to leave, we learned DH had a massive aortic aneurysm, along with other heart issues. So, instead of celebrating at WDW, he had open heart surgery. Through his recovery and all the events of the past couple of years, we've really discovered how precious life really is. We've taken more time to enjoy simple moments and we've celebrated the big moments. This anniversary at Disney will be one of those big moments and that means taking time to get dressed up (in my dress that does indeed make me feel beautiful), strolling along the walk way to dinner, having a special meal at a wonderful restaurant, and taking the time to enjoy a toast to our years together! Thank you!

Wear what you want. Dress up. You’ll be the ones looked at with style at the restaurant. I love Disney dress up nights. Only certain restaurants though. This is one of them. Try not to think about what others are wearing. I was recently at CG and everyone was dressed pretty nice. Many people buying bottles of wine. That made me happy. Then again I am a firm believer the later you go, the more dressed up the attire will be. Aim for a 8pm reservation.

When you look good… you feel good 😊

You can never be or a dress for a special occasion. That being said it’s typically 50/50 between resort wear and shorts/tshirts.

enjoy!🌺
