I wanted to have a nice dinner out one night and we don't have anyone going with us. Our children are 3.5 and 6.5.

We took our daughter with us for our anniversary dinner in September she just turned 3. I think it is perfectly fine. We sat next to the window so she looked at the castle, boats etc. Go and enjoy your meal the potatoes are GREAT!!:)

We took our DD last year when she was 5 and it was fine for her. The waiter was very good with her, she couldn't decide between macaroni and cheese or steak and he offered to get her a dinner with both.

::yes:: too our 5yo Philly boy there last summer. He loved it, ate well and fit right in.

glad to hear it and see this thread...just made ADRs there for our next trip. Looking forward to it!

We are taking lotsa kids with us in November for my birhtday. 3, 5, 7,9, and 11 so I hope it is OK LOL.

I don't like bringing my kids here.........they expect me to share my lobster and calamari! :rotfl2: It's a nice restaurant but still kid friendly.

It is not bad place for kids but I hope parents would make sure their kids know this is not a character meal & stay in your seats & try not to bother with other guests trying to eat in peace. I don't mind kids but hey it is a nice sit down for people who want to get away from a lot of noise & kids running around tables. Is that too much to ask for? Last time I was there two familes had young kids & all they did was scream & run in & out of their chairs & even knock the CM tray down with someone's food. It wasn't a plesant experience for them well maybe it was as they ignore what their kids were doing. But not for the other guests. Not a blast to parents who take their kids but just to say kids should know it not a place to run wild :)

I agree with tiger4me2. A lot of people on the Dis will ask if restaurant A or B is "kid friendly" and with the exception of Victoria and Alberts and Bistro de Paris (which have no kids menu) the answer is yes. However, I think the other part of the question for signature restaurants should be, "is the child "restaurant friendly", meaning can they sit nicely (not jumping up and running around) talk regularly (not yelling, screaming, squeeling, crying, ect) and stay at there own table (not bothering the people next door - like the child who's parents were trying to control her by holder her on their lap when she kicked DH in the back trying to get loose). I don't mind children in restaurants at all if they can do these things.

We take our DS5 with us every trip to Narcoossee's. It's a must do for us.

We just had our anniversary dinner there last month. I noticed a few very well behaved kids but if you're looking for a QUIET place to have dinner, this is not the place to go. I don't agree with the above statement that "it is a nice sit down for people who want to get away from a lot of noise ". It is far from getting away from noise. As long as you know that going in. If they do get a little cranky, take them for a walk out on the pier which is fascinating for them to see!

This is our 7yr olds one of two requests (other Boma). He is crazy about the blackened grouper:confused3

We'll be there in a few weeks and the kids are looking forward to it....I am glad that we won't be the only ones with kids there!!!

I don't disagree but I think it okay for kids don't get me wrong we love the place but I think parents should make sure their kids are not distrubing other guests. Yes if they get cranky take them out for a walk not ignore them while they distrub other guests. I just mention one time we were there what happen. Been three times & the two times the kids were great except for that one time. I didn't mention it was my food that they made the CM drop so I had to wait longer as did my DH. The resturant was describe to me as being a place to get away from all the character meals. But again this is MHO. I been married almost 40 years now. And next year will be 40 years but not going to Disney to celebrate. We did our 25th at the Poly & it was great but it was really 26yrs as my Mother passed away on the 25th so we waited a year as we needed to get things wrapped up with her estate etc.

You don't need to explain yourself. I have a child, & I agree with you. The Signature restaurants are very expensive & people should be able to have a nice experience. It's not only about the food. I know it's hard as a parent to skip the nicer restaurants, but your kids won't be young for long. Enjoy it! The nicer restaurants will still be there.

IMHO, it's not only cranky kids who should be taken out. Bored kids should also be entertained outside the restaurant. Actually, if anyone thinks their kids may become either, they should just wait a few years. WDW is full of restaurants that kids will actually enjoy. There's very few that they may not be a fit for. It is a place for families w/ kids, but it's also a place for those w/o.

All that said, some young kids are absolutely ready for these restaurants & parents shouldn't think twice about taking them. I've actually seen adults act worse than some kids do, if only someone would take them out. ;) The key is for parents to consider others, & be honest with themselves when considering whether their child is Signature restaurant friendly.

PS: I usually don't reply to this type thread, but decided to this time. I've seen several "it's our vacation too" & "It's WDW. If they don't want to be around kids, they should go somewhere else." threads lately, which is saddening. I hope most people don't feel this way, & realize it's everyone's vacation. We all have a right to enjoy our vacation.

Well~ I am going to reply because I am staying at the GF for Christmas and do plan on having dinner here on Xmas Eve or Xmas day.

One thing....when you have smaller children you CANNOT predict how they are going to act. I may take dd3 (who will be 4) on our trip and she will be great one time and the next she is not. She has been to plenty of restaurants but some days are good and some are bad. I am still going. I will, however, be polite and remove her from the area or restaurant if she is throwing a complete fit.

I do not think parents of young children should have to skip the nicer restaurants because they have toddlers etc. No child is ever perfect. If you never take them...how will they ever know how to act:confused3
