Narcoosee's Sunday Brunch Questions

I have a reservation at Narcoosee's for Sunday Brunch at 11:25am for a group of 4 adults and 3 children (ages 4, 7 and 11) on 12/17 and have a few questions. My plan is to go rope drop MK in the AM, go to the brunch, head back to our rental home nearby for a nap, then back to MK in the evening for MVMCP (we already have our party tickets).

Does this sound reasonable?

I've read there is a boat from MK that docks right outside of Narcoosee's, would you recommend taking this to get there?

What time would you leave the MK gates to make it to the restaurant for this reservation?

Have you been to the brunch and enjoyed it?

How long does brunch there take (is it typical Disney where you are in and out in an hour if you wish)? How crowded is it typically at brunch time? Will we have to wait long for our table?

Any other advice?

We will be parked at the TTC so figure on taking monorail back to parking lot from GF after brunch. Hoping to have a few minutes to look at the Christmas decorations at GF after we eat.

Thanks so much for any insights you have!

We did this last year. The menu has changed slightly since then but it was wonderful. I'll try to answer your questions as best I can.

I've read there is a boat from MK that docks right outside of Narcoosee's, would you recommend taking this to get there? Yes. There is a boat from MK to Grand Floridian. You can take this or the monorail. The boat brings you closer to the restaurant.

What time would you leave the MK gates to make it to the restaurant for this reservation? You should always allow at least 30-40 min for any Disney transportation in case "you just missed" the boat/monorail and you have to wait for the next one. They run about every 20 minutes. The boat ride is literally less than 10 min. If it were me, no later than 10:30.

Have you been to the brunch and enjoyed it? Yes. One of the better meals I've ever had on property.

How long does brunch there take (is it typical Disney where you are in and out in an hour if you wish)? How crowded is it typically at brunch time? Will we have to wait long for our table? The restaurant is set up with ample space as it's one of the more "fancy" places on property. So it was busy but not insane if that makes sense.
Brunch for 4 adults took close to 1 -1 1/d hours and I'd say you don't really want to rush this. It's an experience with each course served as it should be. Plus it's all you care to eat so if someone wants a second plate or an extra drink, it will add time. It is not a buffet that you can easily do in 45 minutes.

Any other advice?
Again, this is an experience not a quick meal. Something that should be savored and enjoyed. The food here is very, very good. My suggestions: try anything you might want & if you don't like it, try something else. Go hungry as it's is a lot of food. Allow yourself leisure time to get there and eat. You don't want to rush too much.

Hope you enjoy it as much as we did.

Thank you SO much! What were your favorite items on the menu?

Also, I asked about how busy it is because I have had a couple of bad experiences waiting for a table at 50's Prime Time with an ADR so I get nervous waiting for a table anywhere now when it isn't at restaurant opening time/meal start time. My kids are old enough that they are starting to appreciate nicer meals, so I am looking forward to this!

We are early people so we always check in early for any ADR if we can. We were on time and they sat us within 5 min. I find the resort restaurants are much more punctual than the parks. I think they have less walk ups actually (the exception to this being Ohana).
I had the chicken and waffles and it was really good but DH had the steak & eggs with a side of lobster. LOL I ate some of his filet and it was incredible. I'm not a drinker so I got a smoothie which was extremely good.
Others in my party got the shrimp & grits and said they were very good. The pastries were standard Disney so we didn't fill up on them. Desserts were good but again, standard Disney. Disney never seems to wow on desserts and I'm not really sure whey they can't get those right.

Well Narcoosee's does Wow on the dessert but it is the dinner menu. The Almond Cheesecake is out of this world and so is the Chocolate and Coconut creme brulee!!!

Looking forward to the shrimp and grits appetizer. And the signature bloody Mary. And maybe a mimosa or two though I want to make it to MVMCP that evening! Thanks for letting me know you can get steak and eggs with a side of lobster, my 11 year old has expensive taste and will be very happy. I am way too excited about this brunch. Originally I was trying to get BOG for lunch that day and couldn't get it then saw this brunch a few days later. I'm kinda glad things worked out the way that they did.

Honestly...I think this plan isn't gonna be the greatest. You've got a large group, and you're going to want to savor and enjoy your brunch! You can get refills on everything, and bottomless mimosas.

You're hardly going to have any MK time before you have to leave, and you're using a park ticket on a day that you already have party tickets. Is rope drop a must for you? If I were you, I would go to the brunch, and then either go to the MK (if using a park ticket that day isn't a big deal), OR go back to your house for a nap and then wait to get to the MK at 4pm, so that way you don't use an actual park ticket.

You'll still have 4pm-midnight at the MK, you'll have plenty of time to enjoy your brunch without rushing, AND you won't have to worry about rushing around at the MK in the morning.

Also I forgot: small thing, but also if you go straight to the brunch and then back home, you can just park at the Grand Floridian and don't have to mess with the TTC until you come back that evening for the party.

It's also notable like the above poster mentioned, I wouldn't waste a ticket day with this ressie but that's just me. I'd do as they suggested. Maybe show early and stroll around GF, maybe do a monorail crawl early until brunch if you want to have the Disney feel before your meal.
If your ressie is 11:30 - you won't be done until around 1-ish. Back into the parks by 2 (or slightly earlier) but extremely full. lol Maybe Disney Springs until party time?
Just a suggestion.

I have 6 day park tickets, and only 6 full days in Disney. I can't use one of the tickets on my travel days, so it's not really wasting a ticket for me. I have 3 boys who love rides, and who wake up at 6:30am on their own right now and we haven't even reached daylight savings time. And my family (especially DH) doesn't do well without napping, as they are great staying up late if they can get a solid middday nap. :)

What I'm hoping for is that Disney opens MK at 8am that day, as it has historically. If so, we've always enjoyed a lot of rides in those first few hours. My theory is that if the kids ride several rides in the morning we won't feel pressured to ride as many in the evening during the party, as this is our first park day. So I guess my plan will be, to keep an eye on MK hours for that day, and if the park opening ends up being at 9am I'll cancel the brunch/try to get a reservation in the park somewhere for lunch. If I cancel I'll make sure to post in the Cancellation Thread. I'd LOVE to do brunch, but it's not a priority for us, particularly if it's going to stress us out. I may just have to save it for another trip.
