We are trying to decide where to dine for an adult night out. Which restaurant would you pick and why? Thanks!

We have not been to Narcoossee's but have been to CG and loved it. Will go back. Seeing wishes with music piped in was awesome. Would have stood on observation deck if it wasn't so cold out. Food, drinks & atmosphere were great .
That being said...... I still want to try Narcoossee's so basically I'm no help to you at all :upsidedow

We chose Narcoossee's for our adult night. That was based purely on the menu. We aren't big seafood eaters so Narcossee's seemd to be the better choice for us.:)

Kevin on the Dis Unplugged podcast reviewed both of these restaurants and he liked both, but he RAVED about Narcoossees. He loved the food, service, location etc, so I know that I am dying to go there on my next trip now. The food at the CG is less my taste (but we don't care for sushi, so it depends on which menu interests you more too).

We ate at Narcoosee's back in August and it was great. Nice staff, great food and we got to take our drinks outside on the patio and watch Wishes with the music piped into speakers around us. We are going to try CG in November just to do something different, we love Sushi so hope it works for us.

We have reservations for CG and I am calling tonight to change them to Narcoossee's. I made that choice based on the menu (I like steak and seafood better than sushi.) The location (Narcoossee's is at the GF where we are staying.) The 2 TS credits at CG just don't add up to a $36 steak and a dessert...while at Narcoossee's the surf and turf is just what I would order. And finally, the one big draw to Cali Grill would be the fireworks from the top of the Contemporary, but we won't be out that late with a 3yo, so the only reason I would keep that ressie is gone.

Oh well, I'm off to call and change it now.

Have eaten at both several times and much much prefer Ca Grill. The seafood at Narcoosees is not the best on property (Flying Fish is much better) and the dining atmosphere for adults is not as unique at Narcoosees as it is at Ca Grill. Ca Grill offers dishes that you probably don't see everyday (and the sushi is just one section of appetizers, not all they offer here) whereas Narcoosees is much more standard fare. Food presentation is much more dramatic at Ca Grill. Wine selection (and the knowledge regarding those wines) is much better at Ca Grill.

We've eaten at both and I think the food is much better at CA Grill and the menu offers a wider variety of options to choose from. To echo Pakey, sushi is only one component of the restaurant's entire menu. They have incredible flatbreads at CA Grill and a goat cheese ravioli that still makes me drool every time I think about it. And their polenta is so creamy and flavorful ... I wish I was eating it right now.

Having said that, I do think the food at Narcoossee's was good, but they didn't have nearly as many options on their menu as GA Grill and the bulk of the choices were seafood. This didn't bother us because the hubby and I love seafood, but again, to echo Pakey, we think that Flying Fish has far better seafood prepared in much more interesting and creative ways than Narcoossee's.

Of the two restaurants we will defintely return to CA Grill (and request a table in the far more quiet Wine Room). Narcoossee's did not make our "must-do" WDW dining repeat list.

BTW - I checked Narcoosee's menu listing from our 10/07 visit and 6 of 9 appetizer selections featured seafood and 7 of 12 entree selections featured seafood. In my book that qualifies as a restaurant that specializes in creatures from the sea ... for those of you who have posted about not enjoying seafood and opting to make ADRs at Narcoosee's, you may want to look for a more recent menu or consider changing your plans.

Hope you have a great dinner, regardless of where you end up! :goodvibes

I have eaten at both several times and really like both - I personally feel CG is a little more sophisticated in it's menu, but found Narcooses food just as well prepared - I have had good service, and just fair service at both (one time when we were in the wine room at CG I had this spotlight beating down on me - it was really irritating, but the server said he could do nothing about it (no way to dim it). He did try to accomadate us eventually by moving our table, but it helped only minimally. On the plus side this room was a bit more quiet. I must say the one time I went to Flying Fish I had the best meal ever on-site at wdw, and hands down, the best server. It's just that the atmosphere at the other two are more romantic (though go late if you want a quieter meal.)

We have not dined at Narcoossee's, but tried CA Grill for the first time last week. It was FABULOUS!! Yes, there is much more than sushi on the menu. The selection is good and the atmosphere is superb. It was our favorite dining experience of our entire trip and WELL worth the 2 dining credits. We had a table right by the window overlooking the water and MK. Watching the fireworks from there with the lights dim and the music piped in just completed the experience. We will definitely return to the CA Grill on our next Disney trip.

We loved California Grill and are eating there again this trip. But we are also doing Citricos. I'd go with CG.

Narcoossee's!!!! We have dined there many many times, and have always had a wonderful dinner! We just love it there, and return everytime we go to WDW!

I have to agree with the Narcoosses folks. My wife and i ate there on our honeymoon and loved it. We were able to walk right out after dinner and grab a romantic boat ride over to MK. CG was good, but unless you are planning on eating late and watching the fireworks, Narccoossees tops our list. Great seafood and my wife had chicken. Along with the Desserts are amazing!!!!

Narcoossees. is. fabulous. :lovestruc

best steak I have ever had, DH loves teh lobster and crab cakes, almond crusted cheese is to die for
