Not silly at all (I lived in Alaska for four years and have had salmon all sorts of ways, bones & no bones). Anyway, the cedar plank salmon is, indeed, boneless. They bring it to you on the cedar plank then plate it at the table. It is excellent. The classic companion wine is a pinot noir, and AP has a wine list primarily consisting of Northwest wines (as befits the lodge's theme). On that wine list are some topnotch Oregon pinot noirs to pair with the salmon. If you're unsure of what to order, the servers are well-versed and knowledgeable. I forgot to mention in my earlier post that the smoky portobello soup/bisque is heavenly.
We usually stay at VWL and make a habit of dining at AP since it is so convenient and rated by many as one of the top 5 restaurants anywhere on property at WDW. That being said, the Grand Floridian is close by and Narcoosee's, Citrico's, and V & A's usually get high marks, as well. Still, since you're at WL, why not take advantage of not having to drive or bus over to GF?
And after dinner, you can stroll the grounds of WL, watch the geyser, sit on the beach and watch the electric water pageant, or take a short walk down the nature trail. There is just something peaceful about that resort which is why we love it. If you have any more questions, fire away.
