Hi All! Trying to plan a nice dinner for DH, DS, DD and myself. We did the CG 2 years ago and LOVED every minute of it!!! I'm trying to duplicate the service, food and atmosphere.
Is Narcoosee alot more expensive than CG? Can I expect to pay around the same price?

We also had window seats at CG and really enjoyed watching the fireworks over dessert. Do you have to go outside at Narcoosee to see the fireworks or is there a specific table area to request.

Thanks for any info!:Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc

you would be able to see fireworks from inside the restaurant, just be sure to ask for a window table. here is a link to the menu at narcoosee. http://allearsnet.com/menu/menu_nar.htm as far as california grill, the past 2 times we dined there, i was just a little disappointed in the meal. these meals were w/in 6 monthes of each other the last being in may.

We much prefer Narcoossee's; we feel CG is highly overrated. The prices are about the same at both restaurants. I wouldn't bother requesting a window table because when the fireworks start, mostly everyone goes outside on the veranda to view them, thus blocking the windows. It is a beautiful location to watch the fireworks (better than CG, in fact, because they are perfectly framed around the castle at N) and the veranda is covered in case of rain.

The prices are very similar: entrees run between $17 to $75. Narcoossee's specializes in seafood and meat: surf and turf. California Grill is more upscale. Both are popular because you can see Wishes, although it's slightly noisier at Narcoosee's due to the hardwood floors. You're also apt to see more families at Narcoosee's.

We liked Narccoosses much better than CA Grille. Dont forget to have the almond cheesecake thing there for dessert!

We've dined at both many times and love them both. Prices are similar. CGs menu is more eclectic while Narcoossee's really specializes in seafood.

I agree that Wishes is framed better at Narcoossee's than from CG. Didn't matter as much with the old fireworks.

We have had one bad experience with service at Narcoossee's but most have been fine.

Thanks all! You answered all of my questions. I'm looking forward to checking out the GF and thought it would also be neat to dine at Narcoosees. Thanks again!:bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce:

And again--as Cinderella37 said, don't worry a whole lot about a window table at Narcoosee's. Most likely there'll be so many folks on the deck that you'll have to go outside anyhow..

A quick story. Our last meal there we had a window table and two ladies with their little girls came in. They also got a window table, but it was at the far end of the window area. You should have heard the complaints!! They got the manager involved and DEMANDED a table with a "better" view. There weren't any at the time so they started to order etc at their current table--mouthing off the whole time. When a "better" table opened up, the staff at Narcoosee's moved them and all their food over there.
Guess what?? When the fireworks began, the crowd moved out to the deck to watch. There were people standing on the deck in front of their new (better) table and after a few moments, they were forced to gt up and walk outside--just like we did, and what they could have easily done at their original table. And not only that, they had to walk to the far end of the deck, just in front of where their original (and unacceptable ) table was!!

Uncleromulus, great story. I've learned to keep my mouth shut!! I'm kinda surprised that the staff didn't tell those women that their so called "better" table wasn't as good as they thought. But then again......the women were probably so obnoxious the staff didn't really care a whole bunch. Thanks for the info!

Oh, one more question. I have two kids, DD (14) and DS (12). I could leave them at the hotel while hubby and I eat......but it just doesn't seem right:o

Do they have a children's menu? Would they let a 14 year old ordered from it? I just don't see my daughter ordering a $28.00 entree. She would be just as happy with a $6.50 cheeseburger.
Would they let her and my son split an entree? Or is this just tacky at a fine restaurant? What do you think?

Do they have an arcade at the hotel? Maybe drop them off....while the hubby and I dine. Just a thought:p
