Napping

My son napped until he was almost four - and I think the main reason was because I was pregnant with our twins and *I* needed to nap! I'd pick him up from preschool, we'd eat lunch, and then we'd nap together for about 2 1/2 hours.

My girls, on the other hand, were done with the naps at a little over 2 1/2. They would nap if I sang to them, and REALLY tried to get them to sleep, but I almost always had to wake them up to pick up big brother from school, and then they would stay awake until 10:00 at night or later! Totally not worth the one hour or so nap they were getting, so I stopped the nap and moved bed time up.

They never nap any more, unless we are on a super long car drive or at Disney, LOL! :)

I think this also depends a lot on your family/work situation.

My dd,3, naps about 2 to 3 hours a day, but that works for us because since I don't get home from work until after 8 pm on a good night, an earlier bedtime would mean I would never see her awake. This way we have dinner, bath and storytime after I get home.
