Naples

Any information about the food at Naples in DTD? Wondering if it is worth having?
It's very yummy. It's a must have when I go. You can also order from the full Naples menu at Napolini next door to get stuff to go. What info do you need?

We love Naples. Had my choice of anywhere I wanted to eat for my birthday last week. I picked Naples at DtD.

I love their pasta. DH loves their pizza. We looooove their calamari. And let's just not even mention the desserts or I might gain weight just dreaming about them. Their daiquiris are pretty darn good too.

Enjoy,
Dreams

Thanks so much, been to disneyland many times but never ate here and were thinking of trying in July. Probably for pizza as we do not like the pizza in the parks so maybe we will give it a try

We had dinner at Naples on our last trip and really enjoyed it. We had a great server, who actually suggested changes I could make from the menu because he could see I was struggling to choose between two meals :rotfl: We were seated outside and even got a partial view of the fireworks with our dessert and coffee :thumbsup2

We also love their Calamari! It is absolutely delish. The pizza is pretty tasty, we usually go for the Quattro Formagi or the Margherita. If someone in your party is having a birthday in the month of your visit make sure you join the Pantina restaurant group rewards now. They will send you $30 off your order to use during your birthday month which I thought was very generous.

We love the pizza at Naples...especially if you enjoy thin crust! One of my favorite places to eat while at DL.

I've had mixed results at Naples, but the last time I went it was pretty good. I would recommend the pizzas (I've had consistent luck with those).

If you are thinking of going for dinner or during a busy time (e.g., Friday or Saturday nights), I would highly recommend making a reservation. The walk-up wait can exceed an hour otherwise.

Just made reservations for 6/20! We love Naples! There was a time we felt the food and service slipped, and we didn't go back for a while. Decided to try it again about 3 years ago, and have been very happy with every meal. We enjoy the pizza very much. It's thin, crispy, yet still the right amount of chewy, and not overly cheesy. DD doesn't eat pizza, and has enjoyed all the pasta dishes she has tried. Her favorite is pasta in a cream sauce with mushrooms and broccoli (can't remember the name). The pasta portions are not huge. DD just turned 12 and is 5'6 110 lbs, and can easily finish her entree (has been able to for a year or two). We usually get 2 salads to share, as a starter. Now I'm hungry!

I have to be the lone dissenter! I can't stand their pizza. It's really awful, IMO. I've tried it a couple of times because it smells so good and it looks like it would be good...but it's not.

The pasta I had at Naples was good, though. Service was fine but the place was so busy that it took a loooooong time to get through the meal.

There are many other places much higher on my list.

Another vote for Naples Pizza!:thumbsup2

We haven't tried the Pasta, but the Pizza was fantastic---fresh, hot, and delicious!

The service was great the times we've been there, and we will absolutely eat there again!:)

Naples is a must do for our family. The pizza is to die for and the service is great. My teen DD and I found the pasta portions plenty big. This was at dinner. I agree a reservation is a good idea, they are always busy. If you have an AP, they give the dining discount.

Compared to what? it isn't as good as Catal, Brennan's Jazz Kitchen, Napa Rose Crossroads at HOB, but it is okay. There are better Italian restaurants in the area, but if you are DTD and want Italian, it is fine.

I took my son during spring break and the food was awful. My son did not like his pizza and my portion for pasta was really small. Also, the service was less than desirable. My son is very passionate about never going back there.

Maybe Naples pizza has improved since I was there last (1 1/2 years ago), but there were several threads in the past that had a pretty dismal rating for the place, so I was surprised to see so many favorable comments in this one. To be more specific to what I disliked about the pizza, the crust was tasteless and really soggy in the middle, the pepperoni was so spicy it burned my lips, and no one in our group of easy-to-please pizza eaters liked it. I mean, I like the Sbarro pizza in the mall better than Naples!! That's pretty bad. But like I said, maybe it has improved since I was there last.

On a plus note, if you sign up for the Patina group, you can get $30 off your meal if you go around your birthday. That's what we did! That time, we just ordered pasta and it was very good.

We always go to Naples the first night of our October trips, get a table outside, and then start looking for the people who walk around making animals and hats out of balloons. We love the pizza. (I have a feeling that preferred pizza style is one of those things that people differ on a lot--my recollection of it is that the crust is soft, thin, and blackened, which I enjoy.) And DD9 always asks for spaghetti and meatballs because she says it's the best pasta anywhere.

Do *I* really think it's the best Italian restaurant in the universe? No, but it's Italian food in Downtown Disney, where you can people watch and talk about what rides you're going on tomorrow and get balloon animals. And, like all traditions, the fact that we do it every time makes it yummier. :)
