Naples, Florida - Whats There To Do?

We are taking the kids to Disney in December this year, but DH and I are undecided as to what to do for next years vacation (depending on how the market holds out ). My parents have a home in Naples Florida, and we were thinking of going down there, but we were there once, and couldn't find much to do - this was b.c. (before kids). For those of you who have visited there, or live there, what is there to do??
I know there is a zoo, a minor league baseball team, and lots of shopping, but thats all we know of. We are looking for kid-friendly things, and adult things as well. We will probally be there for 1 week at the end of April.

PS - We will go about 1.5 hours from Naples for something good!

If you head farther south you can go to Everglades City and take a nature cruise. We saw countless dolphins just off the boat.

We went to Naples 5 days last May and our DDs (then aged 5.5 and 3) LOVED it. Just hanging out on the beach, shopping, we did the zoo, we went to the Pier and walked around. It was a great relaxed vacation. At first, I was skeptical of filling the time as well, since we're used to Disney vacations, but they spent hours on the beach. We'd go back at night and watch the sunset and play in the sand as well. Have fun.

There's a very nice, fairly new Water Park in Naples. It's run by Collier County, and sits on the North Collier Regional Park. It's called Sun n Fun Lagoon. This has become a must do for us. We generally spend a week in Bonita Springs in February. It's only been open 2 years or so

The 1st year we went, it was only about 60 degrees, and overcast and windy, and I think there were more lifeguards than patrons.

Last year it was MUCH nicer, and we spent from about 11am to 5pm there.

We also enjoyed Caribbean Gardens when the kids were younger.
