i just called my mom in Hawthorn Woods who is currently sun bathing outside, she said she hasn't heard anything. Obama is in town for the Hawks game she said so maybe it has something to do with that.

YEP, just said to DH that Obama was in this weekend and I bet Airforce One was escorted in,and now the fighter jet flying back...I am telling you, our house shook! I sure hope the President makes it to Arlington for Memorial Day ceremony....I mean, I know the Hawks are fun and all..but you know.

Well considering George W Bush skipped at least one, Reagan skipped at least 2 and George Bush the 1st never went to any I'm not sure why Obama is under fire. In the last 30 years Clinton was the only president to attend all the Memorial Day ceremonies while he was in office.

Well considering George W Bush skipped at least one, Reagan skipped at least 2 and George Bush the 1st never went to any I'm not sure why Obama is under fire. In the last 30 years Clinton was the only president to attend all the Memorial Day ceremonies while he was in office.

I personally feel that with an active war going on, and our soldiers entering Arlington daily, that WHOEVER is in office should attend for the Memorial Day Services. I did not place Obama under fire in comparison to what others have done, I point out that the Commander in Chief should attend Arlington...especially if he can make room for a Hockey game. I live in Chicago, I get the hype on the Stanley cup, I get the POTUS is a fan...just think he should also represent on Monday. I stand by my staetment that he is making an unfortunate choice.

I'm not saying I don't agree with you. I was responding more to the eye roll which to me implied Obama has done something completely unprecedented.

I just don't remember any news polls and media coverage when any of the other recent Presidents skipped the ceremony.

Where in Downers - is just a couple blocks north of Downtown DG. We just took the pooches downtown, for the car show (a.k.a socialization 101) this evening. They love the walk!

And Buffett - (sorry for going O.T.) you going to Alpine? Or Toyota Park?

We're going to .....both!!! And just got back from May 15th in Indianapolis. If you're going to a Chicago one, we should totally meet up. I have enough flower lei's to "do" the whole parking lot. And I'm a super nerd... I have Glow Bracelets too. And Palm Tree decorated sippie cups. AND we make the *BEST* Jello Shots!!!

And we're tossing around Las Vegas - October 23rd. (who are we kidding....we're totally going to Vegas, too!!!)

After relentless teasing from co-workers about Disney, when I had 3 countdowns on my white board for Buffett concerts, they gasped "You're a Parrothead, too???" Yes, yes, I am!

Sadly, not attending ANY or would love to meet up, had tix when he played Wrigley, and had to cancel due to In-Laws...anniversary party...REALLY?!?!?!?!? Do they NOT know JB is in town and I scored tix? Along the first base line?!?!???! Obviously I was able to sell those but sheesh... not in our budget this year, Does hitting Margaritaville next week in Orlando help make up for it? Taking the last family vaca for a while..college is KILLING us. Vegas, now THAT is gonna be a blast.

We almost didn't get Indy's. My one g/f (in the middle) lives like 5 minutes from that stadium, and I called her that morning "I can't get them!!! They've sold out!!" (in like 10 minutes!!!)

She was half asleep - and WOKE UP! And goes, I'm going over there... I'm going now. I'lll call you back. I gotta go.

I know that one of Reagan's was six weeks or so after the assassination attempt, and since Bush I is a WW II vet, I give him a pass. I think the one that Bush II missed, he was in Normandy at some sort of remembrance ceremony. And, I am fairly certain that Obama is going to be at a military cemetary in the Chicago area on Monday, so I don't see a big deal here.
