Don't compare Napa Rose to Club 33. They are completely different. Steakhouse 55 is great. But Napa Rose is really quite special. And while the Chef's counter is fun, if it's your first time, I recommend you getting a nice table. The waiters are all sommeliers and you have more room to spread out and enjoy all the great wine. True, at the counter you'll get to mingle with the chef and maybe have a special something prepared for you. But again, for a first timer, I'd make sure I got there nice and early and sit at the bar for a good while. The bar atmosphere at Napa Rose is fantastic. The bartenders are wonderful, as are the regulars, and it's perfect for getting in the mood for your dinner later. Or you could sit in the lounge or out on the patio around the fire pit. They have FANTASTIC wines, and your dinner there will be a great experience.
To the poster who asked to compare Club 33 to Napa Rose, Napa Rose is more refined in terms of gastronomic caliber. That said, Club 33 is much smaller and is a private club inside the park...and is by far the best food available inside Disneyland. And of course, there's the nostalgia. There's something sinfully exciting about sitting over New Orlean's Square and having cocktails that just isn't comparable to Napa Rose.
I guess I'm rambling. But my recommendation is this. Think about sitting at a table versus the counter. Get there early and absorb the atmosphere. One thing's for certain. You're sure to have a great time.
