Napa Rose Question!

Hi Everyone!

I'm making a very special trip out to Disneyland this Friday, so I'd greatly appreciate your help! I'm attempting to convert my fiance into a Disney Geek like me, so that I may marry him without any hesitations. :) I have been to WDW more times that I'd care to admit, but am not savvy with the ins and outs of Disneyland.

I made reservations at the Napa Rose for 7:45. Do you think it's possible to eat there and get a good spot on Main Street for Remember at 9:25? I'd love to enjoy a nice meal, but it's even more important that I show him the fireworks! I know that the middle of Main Street is the best viewing spot for Wishes in WDW. Is the same true for Remember?

Also, we will be coming from San Diego that day. A friend said that because of the traffic, we need to leave the city by 3 in order to make 7:45 reservations. Is this true??? Fiance has a conference, so he can't leave earlier. I guess living on the coast of North Carolina makes it hard for me to conceive of traffic like that.

Thanks in advance for any advice you all have to offer!!

You should normally anticipate at least a 2 hour dining experience at Napa Rose. Is it possible to move your reservation up to say 6:30? Leaving San Diego at 3, you should be able to make a 6:30 seating. Did you make the priority seating through Disney Dining or call Napa Rose directly? If you did it through DD, then call Napa at 714-300-7170. I would have to say that 7:45 to 9:15 ish is cutting it pretty short.

A trip to OC from SD is usually about 2 hours, so you can add an extra hour on for traffic. The hotel offers 5 hours of complimentary valet parking with validation at Napa Rose. So if you arrive early, go ahead and valet and enjoy the hotel, or DTD, or have a glass of wine before dinner.

I lived in Wilmington, NC years ago and loved it. What a beautiful state.

I agree, Napa takes a long time. I think the last time we went dinner took about 2.5+ hours...

You could rush your dinner, but half the fun is the whole experience, so I would recommend to give yourself ample time.

I agree with TribeFan. The drive should be three hours max (even on a Friday) and you need two hours for Napa Rose. It is a very special restaurant and also very expensive. Let yourselves enjoy it for all it is worth. I know when we eat at Napa Rose (or any other nice DTD restaurant), it is all we can do to waddle down to the DL entrance area and enjoy the fireworks. I am sure the wine has something to do with it, too;)

I hope you have a magical time.

I agree, the Napa Rose is a beautiful, romantic place to eat and relax. I would not want to rush my dinner if I had that chance. Can you move your reservations around a little? Yo Ho!pirate: pirate:

There are more trees and foliage at DL than WDW and there is also a BIG difference in what Tinkerbell can do at DL over WDW just going down a zip line so you want to be where you can see the castle and the top of the Matterhorn. You'll love it! It was easier to watch the fireworks at WDW but I still LOVE the DL with the Tink surprise.
