Napa Rose Chef's Table

We requested Chef's counter when making our PS. There are two seating, I know we had the last at 8:30.

I read on another board that there are actually seat numbers and it was thought that 3-6 are the best ones to sit at? I requested to be where we could interact with the chefs. It is not guaranteed but I figured we have a decent shot at it since we were the first ones to make a ressie and I mentioned it would be our 10th anniversary.

I also mentioned that about 12 posts up the thread. ;)

Yes - those are the best seats, if you don't mind being right elbow to elbow with the pass. Some folks can feel it's a bit crowded, but if you don't mind a plethora of servers at your elbow, the chef interaction is worth it.

Also, in regards to splitting plates, I think I mentioned that, too. We do it all the time. It's not only a way to try stuff, it's a way to maintain your budget, as well as a way to make sure you walk out of there without stuffing yourself past silly and into ludicrous!

Thanks for the extra information. I am really excited. DH is well.....hoping he can get a slab of steak and some mac and cheese or potatoes that look like what they should without the fancy fixins'!! I am ready to try duck confit and whatever else they want to shove my way!!!

Thanks for the info! I didn't know that about the seat numbers. DD13 and I have ressies there for a 5:30 chef's counter request, but maybe I will call back and request seats in 3-6. She is so excited; she figures it will be like sitting at the counter for Emeril, and watching Iron Chef! Can't wait!:cool1:

We are doing the 8:30 seating. I picked Thursday figuring maybe the restaurant wont be as busy as a Friday night. I have never ate there but I know most restaurants are busier on the weekend. It's going to be like my own Food Network experience!

From the nice people who have done this before....you can call NR directly and reserve the chef's counter 90 days out.
