Napa Rose Change

Does anyone know if this is permanent?

Please note: Starting December 6, Napa Rose is exclusively offering the prix fixe Vintner’s Table Menu in the main dining room. À la carte offerings will continue to be available in the bar and lounge areas.

I will stop by Wed and see what this means for the long term. We are a GF family that eats there every trip with a picky 16 yr old (his favorite restaurant) so the regular menu is our friend.

Anyone who has advanced intelligence please share. I don’t like the trend to prix-fixe but if it’s only during the busy holiday time I may be able to breathe again.

It's just temporary. The online menu says:

Holy $168 Batman...Wow, NR has gone from one of the must do eats on property to no thanks over the years...is Sutton still in change of screwing up that sinking ship?

My sister and I ate there last weekend. We didn't intend to, but after waiting over 2 hours for what they told us would be about a 15-minute wait for Hearthstone, they told us they'd seat us in the NR Lounge instead as they were not going to have a spot for us due to the insane amount of people that had come in (I was wondering how all those people got in without reservations when we'd been waiting for 2 hours).

There were only a couple of other table parties in NR but the barstools were full. We had a nice little table near the back. The menu did not look very appealing to me but I figured it would taste good so we ordered several smaller items to share. There was a goose pot pie or something like that that was very greasy, some seafood dish (lobster, I think) that came with a bunch of foam on top, and something else I've forgotten. Neither of us liked any of those things but there was one that was ok. We contemplated having dessert but decided to ask if they had Irish coffee. Our server went to check with the bartender and was told yes, but what they brought us was coffee with Bailey's and whipped cream. It was one of the worst meals I've had at DLR and there was NOTHING about the experience or the food that warranted the exorbitant price. Now I've said before that I'd never go back to NR, but since we were hungry and we thought we'd get lounge food it seemed like it would work, especially since there weren't many people there.

The bill was brought and we swore (again) that we'd never go back. Our server was so nice and we appreciated his efforts on our behalf so when we paid the bill, we gave him a nice cash tip on the side.

*In case you're wondering why we would wait 2 hours, it's because we were staying in the hotel and we just hung around listening to the carolers, the piano player, etc and sitting by the fire. We also browsed the gift shop and decided we wanted the purchase-with-purchase Christmas bag they're offering this year.

Is the Napa Rose Lounge currently open? Online it says temporarily unavailable. Is the only option eating in the dining room with the full pre-fixe menu?

When are you trying to book? The restaurant is closing on April 5 for an extended remodel.

If you are trying to book for two, you might look to see if reservations are open for three or four. If so, you can likely modify it down to two after your reservation is booked.
