Napa Rose (buy out of restaurant)

We are booked at Napa Rose for early June. Just got a voicemail that the restaurant has been bought out for the night and we need to call them. Any experience with something like this? What should I expect when I call? A little frustrated because we are celebrating something special for our family of 4, but I do understand their predicament. Thank you.

No experience but I would be asking for another reservation the day before or after the date you had.

Start the negotiation by explaining the special celebration and saying you'd consider a dinner reservation at Club 33 to be an acceptable substitute. Assuming they say they can't do that, next I'd ask for Carthay Circle (which they absolutely should be able to do). Barring that, I think @kirstyfly's suggestion of a Napa Rose reservation the day before or after is a good one.
