So National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) has officially started!!!!!!!!!!!

Is anyone else doing it?

The goal is to write 50,000 words (170 ish pages) in one month. The goal is quantity not quality.

I am on word 900 and I have no idea where my novel is going!

I was thinking of doing this. I have a story in my head, but there's no antagonist, and just involves the protagonists going from place to place with little-to-no exciting parts... Maybe i'll come up with stuff along the way...

I would totally, I always write quality and not quantity, though. I will tell my creative writing teacher about this though, she'll think it's cool!

I wish. I did it last year and got about 11,000 words. I just don't have the time.

I think I'm going to try it next month. December isn't busy at all and I think I could get a lot done then. It would just be for my own personal gain, really.

NANO!!!

This is my fourth year doing it and it's my favorite. Unfortunately, I'm doing absolutely atrociously this year, having absolutely ZERO time to write. Right now, I'm simultaneously reading these boards, cleaning my room, and trying to write and it's a failure.

Actually no. To verify your word count and win, you have to enter your novel (via copy/paste) into an analyzer. If it determines that all you've got is repetitive nonsense, then your word count isn't validated.

I've done this many, many times before (this is something like year 8). I won for the first time last year (~53k, 122 pages). I'm attempting it this year, but life decided to get in the way and I haven't written much. I'm around word 1400 or so and haven't written in a couple days. :/

Oh yes! I'm 5,682 words right now and my goal is 7,000 words (pretty small, I know). My English is just about the coolest person ever, so she's really into this and encouraging us. I've always wanted to write a novel, so this is perfect!
