Dear Diary,
Starting weight: 286
Current weight: 278
Goal weight: 150
I started Weight Watchers online in mid-February of this year. So far, I've lost 8 pounds and I have a long way to go. I've done WW many, many times before. This time I'm trying to do it on my own through the online program. I'm hoping this works better for me. I want and deserve this more than ANYTHING in my life!
Everyone says they have a "last straw" moment that got them to really start making changes, and I know I do. Of course, I was miserable about a lot of little things....clothes, feeling fat, out of shape, etc. But one day, I actually made a list of 140 reasons I want to lose weight. I kept writing them down until I ran out of room on both sides of the paper. After I made the list, I looked at it and realized that individually these reasons weren't a big deal. You know? You just learn to deal with the fact that when you are fat, you can't where cute clothes. And you ignore that your s*x life isn't what it used to be. And you push away the negative thoughts that you can't enjoy your "Happy Place - WDW" like you used to because of your size.
And then I had the "last straw" moment - I saw the 140 reasons all next to each other, and I realized I'm not living the life I want for myself. All these things have added up and have taken away the joy in my life.
I have a long journey ahead of me, but I am excited and ready to make the changes needed and looking forward to all the experiences in life that will be even better when I am a healthy person.
