Day 4 I had to spend working in the hotel room. Not the best scenario, but atleast I got to come to DisneyWorld ( This week is normally a blackout week for vacations for my company - but they only made me work 1 day, I was very thankful to say the least!!!) The DK, DH, and my DGD took the time to rest, go swimming and visit with my niece's family again. I actually took my lunch hour in the Fantasia pool with them ( NOW< that's what I call a good lunch hour )
That evening we went to Beaches -n- Cream for dinner ( used vouchers and had soooo much food!! it was awesome... kids loved the atmosphere. ) Then we headed for the boardwalk. It was late and they were tired so we didn't stay too long, but we did see a magic show with the AMAZING CARLOS - we all loved it. He was very interactive with the audience and even our baby DGD clapped for him. When leaving we stopped to admire the all CHOCOLATE Carousel House in the lobby of the Boardwalk Resort. That's amazing, how they do that. Have a really good picture of that and I'll try to get it posted later this week.
Day 5 - EPCOT
My DH wakes up with a Kidney Stone. He was in a good bit of pain but said he was going. He ate breakfast and downed a couple of ADVIL and said, " Let's go! " I didn't know if he would be able to make it all day or not, but here we go:
We rode the bus from AllStar Movies and didn't have to wait at all. We arrived and made the long walk to the entrance and finally to the stroller rentals. I do not understand why they can't have stroller rentals outside the entrance by the bus stops or at least the monorail... it's an especially long walk!! oh well, we got our strollers and headed to Test Track. I really wanted to try this ride.
The fast pass time was right at the time our PS for Lunch in Japan - Test Track would have to wait - let's go check out Mission Space. We checked the Fast Pass and it was in 1 hour - perfect. We got our passes and went to right Space Ship Earth. Nice relaxing ride that we all could ride - nothing spectacular, but I hadn't seen it in a long time, so I enjoyed it. Now - time to go back to Mission Space. I have a slight problem with motion sickness on rides that spin round and round (tea cups, etc) so I decided to be the one that stayed with the baby and Lauryn (2). Kelsi (5) wanted to ride and was tall enough, so we let her. I asked my husband if he felt like riding and he kind of grimaced with the pain, and said, " Sure, why not "
ok - HERE's an AMAZING FACT - DISNEY has seemed to create a new cure for Kidney Stones - after he came off the ride, (which by the way they all loved, but said was very intense) he said he didn't feel any pain. We've been home 2 full weeks now and no flare up of it again.... guess it shook it lose or disenengrated it
We went on to World Showcase and got several autographs - the girls loved getting Jasmin's autograph and we have a great picture of them with her. Lunch in Japan is always superb and met our expectations this time too! This was a first for our DGD and they sat, amazed, by the whole presentations. We used lunch vouchers here for the adults and were able to get the LOBSTER and STEAK! with dessert and shrimp for appetizers. What a Deal!!
We toured many of the countries - were very unimpressed with Mexico and the ride there too - waste of time in my opinion. I had read somewhere that they might be piping in the music to It's a Small World in this ride - but they didn't.
Had dinner in Morroco (on vouchers) - made out like kings - got 86.00 worth of food for the cost of 4 vouchers = 46.00 Only problem was no one really liked the food. That is the only restaurant we were disappointed it. Thing is, I don't remember ever reading a bad review of it on her ( Tangerine ) - but we just didn't care for it and the servers were not really nice or helpful.
We did get to go back and ride Test Track and I totally loved it - One of my new favorite rides at DW. Just wish the ending was longer, it's the best!! My husband was really tired (mainly from being in so much pain earlier in the day, it kind of wiped him out- even tho he wasn't hurting now) and Kelsi was really tired so we left before illuminations. I was very disappointed , but I'll see it again later. Kelsi and Lauryn had been promised face painting and they don't do it at Epcot any more so my daughter and I got in the car back at the resort and back to the Boardwalk and had their face painted!! Ok they were happy now - even though it was bedtime. We took their pictures and then they slept in the " Painted face " all night
Tomorrow, we leave - that's always sad. But we'll be back - for more pixie dust and magic when they are a little older!!
