People have PM'ed me asking for photoshop directions. I use Photoshop CS3. Here are my step by step directions.
If you do this one step at a time, you should be able to do this.
1. I started with a wallpaper I found online of the picture I wanted -- it was rectangular in shape.
2. I just copied (right click on pic and copy) and pasted the pic into a blank document in PS (have the blank document already open), and I went ahead and deleted the default background layer that showed up.
3. Then I opened a text layer (over the entire WIDTH of the picture but perhaps not as high -- want to use a LARGE font that will go all the way across your picture).
4. I typed the name in a bold, thick font OVER the picture.
4a. If the type doesn't cover the picture, click on the text layer. Click edit, transform, scale and then change drag the box around the text to stretch the text (longer or wider).
4b. Make sure to NOT LOCK the numbers at the top, so you can stretch not just enlarge.
5. Then on the right side, I dragged the text layer UNDER the picture layer. *Yes, it disappears!*
6. There is a line between the two layers to the right. I held down the ALT key and held my cursor over the line -- the cursor changes to like two circles. Click.
7. This automatically makes the picture show through the text only. It will move the picture layer (on right) over a little and draw a little arrow down to the text layer... that's know you know for sure you've done it right! Layer order to the right really matters!
8. You can click on your picture layer and the move button to move the picture around to where you want it to be... or you can move the text.
9. To outline the text I went into the text effects and chose "stroke" and a color from the picture.
If you want to change your text size to larger than the pull down menu will let you, click on the font size number to highlight it and actually type the number size you want. You can also highlight your text and then click inside the text size box and arrow up to move the numers up one at a time at watch your font get larger... or smaller... to perfect the size.

A while back there was a thread that explained how to make a name with all the characters inside. I can't seem to find that thread and was wondering if anybody could lead me in the correct direction. For some reason I can't get my text large enough... any tips? TIA!!
