Names on RPR room reservations - easy to change?

My wife and I are both AP holders. I booked two rooms a RPR at the APH rate. I understood that each room needs the name of a AP holder, so room 1 is under my name (with my two adult sons) and room 2 is under my wife's name (with my adult daughter who is 22). The actual sleeping arrangements will be me and my wife in the room for 2, and my 3 kids in the other.

Can I simply give my room key to my daughter and vice versa? From what I recall, the facial recognition in the theme park is tied to the park tickets and not the hotel stay. Or do they scan the hotel room key when using express pass (and link it to the name on the park ticket)? If so, is it straightforward to switch the names assigned to each room on check in?

They scan the hotel room key for EP but as far as I can tell it's never linked to your ticket. The name on the ticket/AP doesn't need to match the name on the EP - they're never scanned at the same time. The EP can only be used by one person though, sometimes in the EP line they'll scan faces to match with the EP.

Just back. It was exactly like the previous poster wrote - the scanned the hotel room key but never asked for the park ticket.

The names originally on each reservation was extremely easy to change when checking in. The only rule was that someone over age 21 had to be in each room.
