I've read that it is possible to skip the counter at MCO through Enterprise. I rented Enterprise last year via Costco and I ended up having to go to the counter. Anyone know if it possible to skip if you book via Costco and if so, what is the process? I don't recall receiving a barcode or QR to scan on my previous rentals. Not sure if I'm not doing something right when booking but I'd prefer not to go to the counter if I can avoid the whole situation.

Did you pay Costco or are you paying Enterprise? Usually you have to enter your Enterprise number when the booking is made. Once it's done Enterprise will tell you that it can't be added until you get to the counter. I've only booked using the Costco code through Priceline where it's a bit tricky to find the field to put the number in.

While I’ve skipped the counter for Alamo and Budget at MCO, I believe the process is similar to Alamo there. First, you need to add your member number on the Costco reservation. On the reservation, Costco will list an Enterprise reservation number. Before your trip, go to the Enterprise website, login and find your reservation there. There should be links to check in online and hopefully it will give you a skip the counter link. After it’s completed, you should get an email with the QR code, plus you can print it off at the website.

In the last few years, when booking Budget via Costco, there was a place to enter our Budget Fastbreak number while booking on the Costco site. Our reservations showed up on the Budget app automatically - even when we rebooked, which we did frequently. Maybe there’s a similar place on the Costco booking form when booking Enterprise.

Whichever rental car company you choose, you need to follow their rules. For example, if you book Alamo at least 24 hours in advance (thru Costco), you may skip the counter using the Alamo confirmation number. For Budget, if you register for FastBreak membership before booking, and enter that when booking thru Costco, you may skip the counter.

This is the process we have used with Alamo or Enterprise reservations made through Costco. As noted, you need the Enterprise confirmation number indicated on your reservation, not the Costco one. These will appear one above the other on the email from Costco, Costco number above the Enterprise number.
