Quiet, no high rise buildings, great place for kids

Destination: Half Moon Cay, Bahamas
Private island for Holland America. Sand like confectioners sugar, crystal clear water, and people bringing big pina coladas! What could be better than that!

Although it's been over 10 years since I've been to Hawaii (ever since I discovered WDW, probably) my 2 favorites are on Oaha: Waikiki and Hanauma Bay. Some day I hope to go back and see them again.

Until then, I'll settle for something much closer to home: Fair Haven Beach State Park in Fair Haven, New York. It's not quite Waikiki, but it'll have to do.

Ditto, but is there really a bad beach in Hawaii?

I also loved the Red Sand Beach in Maui but to look at, not um..partake in the um..activites.

And I will say that the Black Sand beach on the Big Island that you can only see if you walk on the lava is gorgeous but a bit freaky when dh said, "you know this lava can crack & we can fall down there".

OK back to reality, I also like North Myrtle Beach since the beach is so wide.

And Ft. Myers Beach too.

Heck, I am happy to take my kids to the beach in Clinton so they can play at the playground there. I wish it would get warm enough to do that.
