Name your best chapstick/lip balm

I use Avon lip Conditioner with spf 15. I apply it religiously when I'm in the sun b/c if I don't I wake up with a big old cold sore the next day. I also use it all winter under lipstick and I never have chapped lips anymore-my lips used to get so bad that they would bleed. I just stocked up with 4 more tubes of this stuff-I can't say enough about it. It's great. I hope your lips get better soon.

Burt's Bees Lip Shimmer in Nutmeg (I know, you're not asking for the color!:lmao: ). Everybody I know wears exactly this stuff, including the same color! :goodvibes

I think A & D ointment is a great idea, though. We used that on baby's butts when I worked on the pediatric floor and it worked wonders.

I worry that any lipblam/chapstick that is "medicated" becomes somewhat addictive. I've heard carmex is one to only use when you have a coldsore otherwise it's not necessary for the lips.

I use any brand of petroleum jelly in a squeezy tube (specifically for lips). Anyone else swear by it? Basing it off of nothing (ha!), I don't believe there's any harmful ingredient in it.

I love Carmex! I'll use regular Chapstick daily, but my lips still get dry and cracked. One time with Carmex will fix that up. I will have to try Burt's Bee's sometime though. :)

hey burts bees lovers- have any of you tried the pomegranate? As much as I love the mint in all the others i've tried (love the tinted ones and lipstick, too!) the fruit is a nice change.

I used to be a former Burt's addict. It was all I would use. But I just discovered C.O bigelow brand of lip stuff, they sell it at Bath and Body works..and I am totally in love with it. I bought 4 of them. They're amazing.

I have the pomegranate one sitting on my desk in front of me. I like this one. Even though it has a medium pink look, it doesn't seem to tint my lips. Love the peppermint Burt's Bees. Not so crazy about the one with honey. It is grainy and doesn't feel very good.

O.P. if your lips are in really bad shape, try using some Aquaphor. It is an ointment-cream similar to Vaseline, but has healing properties. It comes in a huge tub or in a smaller tube. It is really greasy, but can heal damaged skin quickly.

I recently switched from regular Chapstick to Blistex Gentle Sense; it is softer than regular Chaptstick and fragrence free.

I never go anywhere without my chapstick!!

I like the mint Burt's Bees shimmers, but I haven't used them AFTER my lips have been super-chapped. If you use Burt's, your lips never get that way!

Before Burt's, I put Neosporin on my lips at night when they were in really bad shape.

.

I have heard/read the same things. Carmex and some other balms contain phenol which is an irritant and can dry out skin. Menthol can too.

I don't have a favorite, but I had to mention what I just saw this weekend. Maybe it's old, but I have never seen it before. It's called Chicken Poop(yes, it's lip balm). It says on the tube "contains no poop". I couldn't believe it. They have a website, and a whole line of products! Hmm, I don't think I could bring myself to use something called Chicken Poop!

Another vote for Aquaphor! Good stuff.

I swear by Palmers cocoa butter lip balm. I use morning and night. But I carry Blistex Gentle Sense in my purse at all times.

My favorite's C.O. Bigelow Mentha Lip Shine, especially the Vanilla Cola and Root Beer flavors. :)

Neutrogena lip stuff in the squeezy tube. It tastes so peachy and it makes my lips feel great all year round!

Camphor is the ingredient in Carmex that can cause the "addiction" problem.

What exactly do you mean by addicted? I've gone back and forth in using it, and don't become agitated when I have to use something else.

heres what I love blistex herbal answer, I buy it by the dozens, I can only find it on drugstore.com now. it doesnt sting, keeps my lips soft.

I also use kinerase lip stuff and a go smile one its a little compact with blue lip balm. those two are kind of expensive though.

the one I cant live without is the herbal answer.
