Name Trouble?

I'm not sure how common this is but I have the biggest problem remembering someones name. I can know the person for sometime and I still call them the wrong name. My kids have often corrected me on someones name. I also remember my father doing the same thing. I once worked with a women who's name was Sue Tripp. I kept calling her Linda Tripp. It got to the point when I didn't want to say her name because I was afraid I would say it wrong. I'm not that old, so it can't be my memory is already going? Does anyone else do this? Once I call them the wrong name that wrong name stays in my head. Wierd!

I'm pretty good with names, and birthdays. But my biggest problem is NO ONE CAN REMEMBER MY NAME!!!! I am shelby. Not Shelly. Not Sharon. Not Chealse. Not Dana. I am SHELBY!!!

Have you tried repeating their names back to them? If I don't do this when I'm introduced to someone new, their name goes in one ear and out the other. It may be hard to start the habit with people you already know, if you fear using the wrong name, but saying it should help you remember.

I mix up the names of the students in my class. There are only fourteen of them; you'd think I'd get it right.
