I can't even imagine where this question belongs, so I'll just ask it here:

The WDW promo DVD for "happiest celebration on earth" (the one with the characters Erin, Stacey, Dave & Luke) features some great music in the menu screen.

Recently GM started using the same music in a national radio ad.

Does anyone know the name of this song?

I am going to move this to the Theme Parks Board and see if they can help you. I will also change your title so it reflects your question. If you don't get an answer there you may want to post the same question on the Community Board and see if anyone there knows.

Thanks for the help LTS. It is such an obscure question that I will be really surprised if I get a response.

BTW, I love the bus picture/caption.

I have no idea what it is called but I noticed that our CTV News commercials (Toronto) are using that music as well. I did a double take the other day when I heard it played in the background of the add.
It is certainly getting around!

Hopefully someone will be around soon with an answer.

I don't have an answer but I just have to say that DVD is our favorite of the WDW planning videos!

And Erin showed up in an episode of "How I Met Your Mother"!

hmm, I haven't heard the TV commercial, but Disney was using music from the live version of the movie Peter Pan for the Happiest Celebration on Earth. I believe the song was called "I Do Believe in Fairies." It is written by James Newton Howard. The ironic thing is that the movie was not produced by Disney - it was Universal/Columbia/Revolution.

That one is from The Year of a Million Dreams.

Does it have lyrics?

I found a reference to a Chevy ad -- Emy Reynolds - "Surprise, Surprise", but I haven't heard the ads or seen the DVD.

Seemed like a stretch though - the lyrics are nice, but somehow didn't seem to fit with a Disney vacation planning DVD.

If it is used on a multitude of different video presentations from various different places, it is likely a track of "production music."

There are many different sources of this music which is written and recorded specifically for use in radio/TV/Film productions.

If that's what it is, it is not available to be sold to the general public.

The song is "Flying" by James Newton Howard.

If I could post a link it would be to:

(I too thought it was strange to hear a song I think of as quintessentially Disney - how many times have I watched that vacation planning dvd? - on a non-Disney version of Peter Pan.)

Song the OP is looking for is not the song from the Year of a Million Dreams, which is "Flying" from Peter Pan. They are looking for the song from the planning DVD that came the year before that, with Erin, Stacey, Dave, and Luke. It is an upbeat instrumental that I have been looking for for years with no luck. I hope someone can come thru with the answer.

I played the 2005 dvd on youtube and held up my phone with Shazam...

according to shazam it's called Foolz Errand by Matt Backer

Then when it goes to the graphics where Erin pops up with her arms up it's...

Timze Money by John Waddell and William Parnell

...for the idea. Sadly, I cannot find anywhere to preview those songs to confirm it. (I don't have shazam).

BTW, that DVD is still the best of the planning videos. It tells a nice little story, as opposed to just an ala carte menu. We STILL watch it when we have a trip planned.

No ticker yet...but hopefully someday!:thumbsup2
