I agree with all of these, although I prefer the Walter Cronkite version of SSE over the Jeremy Irons version - either would be preferable to what we have now. I would love to have the original Figment ride back. I want the Figment filled with childlike wonder, not the bratty Figment we have now. The new Soarin movie is bad enough if you are in the middle, but absolutely horrible if you are in the side sections.
Sometimes I think Disney just changes attractions for the sake of making a change without putting a lot of thought and effort into it. I can remember waiting hours to ride the original Figment, but I have never seen a line since they changed it, and then tried to fix the change by making it worse.
I don’t mind change if it equals or improves what was there. I liked Maelstrom, but I also like Frozen Ever After. I think both attractions were done well, and although I prefer to see attractions added, like Remy, as opposed to replaced, I don’t feel I am getting a substandard experience in FEA. Another attraction that has had many changes over the years is POTC. I have been visiting MK since it first opened, so I have experienced all the different versions of POTC. I haven’t minded the changes because the ride maintains the original feel of the attraction, even though the women now chase the men, the brides are no longer sold, and Jack Sparrow has joined the cast.
As to the original question posed, I can’t have what I really want. I want Horizons back, in all it’s dated glory. Horizons was my favorite attraction in all the parks and I miss it. Mission Space doesn’t do anything for me.
