Name on plate at crt

I've seen pictures of desserts (I believe) at CRT where the persons name was written in chocolate (I believe) on the plate.

Is this something special for birthdays? My DC13 (cousin) wants to eat at the place where they write your name on the plate. We aren't going until September so if she's going to be disappointed because its a birthday only thing, I want to disappoint her now and not in September.

Nope, not just for birthdays (or just for dinner, I did mine at breakfast). I surprised my girls with this in November. It was gorgeous. When I was ordering it they asked what the occasion was and I said I love my girls, she said that is a great reason. It happened to come out right after the wishing ceremony. My younger girls (9 and 6 at the time) asked why they were getting it. I told them I wished for something special and that was my wish come true. They never questioned it! The only bad part is all these little girls coming over to our table to see it and hearing moms asking to buy one and being told it needs to be ordered ahead of time, it kind of made me feel bad. But like my DH said, it gives them a reason to come back!

By the way, it was not only beautiful but very delicious. Every last drop was enjoyed!!!

Awesome thread -- I'd love to see a picture of exactly what this plate is. I'm not sure I totally understand.....is it an edible plate, or just the chocolate name on the plate is edible....?

I think it is only available at the restaurants in the Grand Floridian or Cinderella's Royal Table.

Best I can do is post a link of the photos (hope it works). My daughter's name does not appear on the plate as they misspelled it (her name is Brooklyn and they wrote Brookyn). Our server wiped it off just before serving it. She was so apologetic and I was not charged for the slipper due to the mishap. I really didn't mind that her name did not appear. She loved it!
