Name change before trip?

We got married back in 2015 and had a disney honeymoon I heard how annoying it is to change a name on the reservations and resort stay so I held off on changing my name.. Come 2017 and we booked another trip to celebrate me adopting my step son so I really want to change my name once it is 100%. I already have all our ADR booked and resort/tickets all linked to everyone in my party and I am the main name. How hard is it to keep everything but change my last name? we are not due to disney till June 2018.

Go to your MDX account and Edit your name. Also either call or Edit the Resort Reservation online so your last name on the Reservation matches the name in MDX. That’s the only way to have your MB linked to you.

At Restaurants, they’ll have the name that’s on your MDX account.

It really isn't hard to edit on MDX. I got married between my last trip and my upcoming trip as well. Nice to get my Mickey Mail addressed to my new name.

Disney resort reservations aren’t difficult. Heck, if you do online checkin and get a room ready text no one’s checking your name anyway. And even if you do go to the front desk they only check one person’s ID.

Changing cruise reservations is obnoxious at times. But not hotel stuff.

My credit card info will have the wrong name on it. I believe if you change your anme they send a new card and cancel the old one. All my ADRs are linked to my currant name card. Am i just imagining issues? lol

They don’t charge your card (except in case of prepay stuff like CRT, HDDR, etc) - they just run it when you book to make sure it works so they can charge a penalty in event of a no show.

ETA - if you did book prepay shows, they already charged your card anyway.

Also, i booked my mom-in-law’s ADRs and used my credit card to secure.

Disney will charge whichever credit card is linked in MDX. As long as it’s a valid credit card, they don’t care who it belongs to.

All this has me very glad that I never changed my name. Too much effort for me. But changing your name to match your stepson is very sweet

Definitely call to check which name is on your reservation after it's changed in MDX if the reservation is already made. We got married in April and booked a bounceback for September under my maiden name. I changed my name and had it changed online but it never transferred to the reservation I had already made. My husband had to check us in as my driver's license didn't match the name on the reservation.

Ever since I changed my name to Robert Iger I've had no problems at all at WDW. Service is fantastic!
