Name Brand, Store Brand, Sale Brand, Same Brand?

Mom's home so I had to do some shopping for her today. Funny thing happened while we were making the list-

She asked for deoderant- so i said- what kind? She replied with a whatevers on sale. This turned into a bigger conversation- and got me to thinking. A few things, I buy the same brand regardless of price, other things I'll go store, and others yet, if its on sale I'll get it... I told her I was going to do a survey on the stuff we talked about- and your my survey group...sorry no payment for taking my survey.

What I need is- do you buy, the same brand every time, is it a store or a name brand- and do you buy different brand based on sales?

Paper Towels- Brawny- 100%

Toilet Paper- Angel Soft- 100%

Toothpaste- Crest whitening with scope-100%

Deodorant- Secret baby powder fresh-100%

Coffee- Maxwell House, Smooth Blend-100%

Butter- land o lakes real butter 100%

Laundry Soap- whats on sale- tide, all, etc. 100%

So I read thru your list, got to the bottom and thought "what brand of brandy?" LOL.

I think there is just a few brands I'm loyal too regardless of cost. One not on your list is ketchup - it must be Heinz.

Paper towels - Bounty, only white
Toilet paper - whatever brand is on sale, but not store brands
Toothpaste - whatever brand is on sale, but not store brands
Deodorant - who knows, I think I buy 3 or 4 per week with all this testosterone in the house. I'm loyal to type (aerosal) rather than brand.
Coffee - ground, Maxwell House, beans - Eight o'clock or Starbucks if on sale.
Butter - real, stick, usually store, but spreadable is only I Can't Believe it's not butter Light.
Laundry soap - loyal to type - only liquid w/bleach but I buy Tide, Cheer, All, whatever is on sale.

deodorant-Dove or Secret
coffee-pretty much anything
butter-very seldom, margarine-Imperial
laundry soap-Tide, when it is on sale I usually buy 3 or 4 which lasts until the next sale. I buy the one with bleach and the new ones with the Febreeze.

The only thing that HAS to be name brand - 100% of the time - is Folger's Coffee..

I'm only brand loyal to a couple of products:

Toilet paper- Cottonelle
Deodorant-Lady Speed Stick-Orchard Blossom
Perfume- Red Door by Elizabeth Arden

Other stuff, I'll buy what I can get the best deal.

Paper towels - I prefer Bounty, but will buy whatever is on sale if I really need them and Bounty isn't on sale, but never store brand.
Toilet paper - Angel Soft
Toothpaste - Sensodyne - I have sensitive teeth and regular toothpaste hurts. I know other brands have the "for sensitive teeth" ones, but have always been leary of buying since I don't want to waste my money if they don't work as well.
Deodorant - Suave
Coffee - Have never bought coffee.
Butter - I Can't Believe it's not butter.
Laundry soap - only use Tide, liquid.

I am usually really product loyal but recently have made a couple of diversions because of sales.

Paper Towels........Bounty (did buy Brawny multi-pack recently and they are okay would buy again if price is right)
Toilet Paper..........Northern (100%)
Deoderant............Lady's Speed Stick (today bought some Arm&Hammer to try since it was 2 bottles for $1.50 but haven't tried it yet)
Laundry detergent .............Arm&Hammer
Dryer sheets...............Bounce
toothpaste...........colgate w/ mouthwash or breath strips (I like Crest too but husband only likes this kind)
butter...............land o' lakes (100%)
Peanut Butter...........Jif and only Jif!

I try to catch sales on most of these products and stock up until the next sale.

I'm not really that name brand loyal. I try to stick with the same brand of deoderant and detergents, but stores keep eliminating the fragrance free options so I have to switch!

Let's see we'll pretty much try anything store brand once. If it's icky than we don't buy it again. I'm picky about my TP (no store brands) and I love Jif peanut butter. We usually end up catching paper towels and TP on sale every couple of weeks. It's usually $5 for the huge multi packages and we stock up.

Ugggggggg. Hopefully I won't be sitting next to you on the next disney bus I ride as due to being in a trance, I would forget where my stop was!!!!! Then I would realize I am not in fantasy land....
