Biergarten is our must, must, must do!
Reading this again and on normal days if you tell the server you have a shellfish allergy they will usually accommodate you (there is probably an extra deep fryer to segregate fries, etc)..well when we went to the Boathouse the server simply said "yeah those fries are probably cooked along with the shellfish". Perhaps they were in the weeds due to being really busy but that was odd..he is basically telling me "beware we might be giving you fries that could trigger an allergic reaction"...so I went with a baked potato. I had a few Shipwrecks in me so I wasn't taken aback that much at the timeSame as youngest DS, developed as a teen/YA.
He was always able to eat at boathouse before, no problem. They are known for keeping a
good allergy friendly kitchen there & he knows to mention it before ordering
he had a mild reaction the last time.
Turns out, one can have issues from simply breathing in shellfish allergens that have been either steamed, fried or boiled.
I imagine they do hang heavy in the air there with the volume of food they put out & we were seated right by the kitchen door.
Had no idea, never mentioned by his dr. Did say he may try dining there again sitting outside
cool. Perhaps a Crescent Lake one too....just so I can vote for that new corn dog stand@Gary Stocker I made some polls in this section to see what we could come up with.![]()
Yea, I'm not sure how top go about crescent lake, i think there is still too many for one poll... well if i include Swan & Dolphin there is too many & if i don't include them, there isn't enough. lolcool. Perhaps a Crescent Lake one too....just so I can vote for that new corn dog stand![]()
More than 10?Yea, I'm not sure how top go about crescent lake, i think there is still too many for one poll... well if i include Swan & Dolphin there is too many & if i don't include them, there isn't enough. lol
I was going to try to split them up between Epcot and HS, but there just wasn't enough room.
@WebmasterCorey (not sure if this is your department or not), but is there any option to adding more poll options? (or is there any reason more would be a bad idea?)
Yes pleaseMore than 10?
we visit BH at least 6 x year since theyve opened, until this yearReading this again and on normal days if you tell the server you have a shellfish allergy they will usually accommodate you (there is probably an extra deep fryer to segregate fries, etc)..well when we went to the Boathouse the server simply said "yeah those fries are probably cooked along with the shellfish".
I've only been to 2 of those, but they're all on my "todo" list!Olivia's

For the first few trips California Grill was a "must-do" given the view, fireworks, steak etc etc...but not anymore with the pre-fixe. It's also why we choose Space 220 Lounge and not the Restaurant (although we still overpay for Spaceghetti haha). We've settled into 2 visits per year lasting 12 nights. We pretty much eat at a TS every night. We've gotten to eat at a lot of places over the past 2 years, but only 3 are scheduled for every trip.
1. Sanaa is our day 1 lunch. Fly in around 10:30, drop off luggage and head to AKL Kidani.
2. California Grill. Best food/service on DW property IMO
3. Topolino's Terrace (breakfast every trip; dinner every other)
4. Le Cellier (our go to for anniversary dinner)
Stayed at BCV on the first leg of a split stay of our Oct trip this year and walked over to Flying Fish for our first time. Loved it! May be added to the every visit list for two reasons. One, to break up the multitude of steak nights by adding some amazing fish options. And two, just an excuse to walk along Crescent Lake at night.
We also ate at Citricos on the 2nd leg of this past trip while staying at GFV. We loved it and will return!
So many good options out there. I think I'm hungry.
That's a solid point that I had not considered. I am definitely not a fan of a pre-fixe menu, but we have only been 3 times now. I see that could get old if we venture that way in Feb.For the first few trips California Grill was a "must-do" given the view, fireworks, steak etc etc...but not anymore with the pre-fixe. I have seen some mixed reviews on the Cali Grill pre-fixe..maybe one trip we will give it another try.
Yeah having my lanky 12 year old girl being considered an adult is laughable...she would never eat $90 worth of food..so pre-fixe menus are out. Some places at Disney will allow kids >9 to still eat off the childrens menu...but I havent had success with pre-fixe...even Mama Melrose Fantasmic package charged her at the adult rate. Disney really needs to re-think this. Edited to add the one exception is Ohana...she eats her weight in steak and noodles so it is worth it (as much as anything is worth it in the Disney-sense).That's a solid point that I had not considered. Having said that, I don't have the most adventurous palate. I find what I like and I usually stay faithful.
Wow, yea that is a tough pill to swallow!!Yeah having my lanky 12 year old girl being considered an adult is laughable...she would never eat $90 worth of food..so pre-fixe menus are out.
