The later years of Seinfeld. It seemed as if the writers ran out of things to write about (actually they did a whole season of that) so just had them doing stupid things.

We are big fans of Big Bang Theory, but part of that has to do with DH being somewhat Sheldon-esque, in the science-nerd way (not in being on the spectrum). DH's PhD is in biophysics and he often knows who the "big name" scientists are who are referenced on the show, understands the theories discussed, follows the math on the white board, etc. (It's actually pretty strange... but I love him!)

Two biggies whose popularity completely escaped me:

I watch very little TV (except sports) or movies, but these would be on my list. Will Ferrell is utterly awful, and I think Jerry Seinfeld may be worse.

Seinfeld definitely ran out of steam, but IMO the first season was the worst.

Won the Golden Globe for best comedy movie. Never thought of it as a comedy, and I think they just put it in that category so they could give it an award.

I generally like black comedy and can be very amused or laugh at it but I hated "The War of the Roses".

Yes. It was actually listed initially as a comedy even though it's an animated musical drama.

None of the hilarity, charm, or watchability of the original. And the acting was terrible too.

Any of the Chuck Lorre TV comedies (2 & 1/2 Men, 2 Broke Girls, Big Bang, Mike & Molly) and for movies, Seth MacFarlane's stuff... A Million Ways to Die in the West I couldn't even finish, Ted.... I'm fairly easily amused. Just not my type of stuff, those guys I guess.

The movie with Matt Damon? I had no idea that was a comedy, although there were comedic moments.

I never found Will and Grace funny. Also alot of the sitcoms mentioned here I agree with, with the exception of Seinfeld. That was and still is the best comedy ever IMO.

Are you talking about the movie Fargo? I never really thought that was supposed to be a comedy.

There’s a very, very, dark sense of humor lurking in Fargo. If you have a dark sense of humor certain parts of it are hysterical. It’s one of my all time favorite movies.

The Birdcage. You’d think the combo of Robin Williams and Nathan Lane couldn’t miss but I thought it was just dreadful.

Yep, that one. You had no idea it was a comedy because it wasn't a comedy. You're right, it has some wry humor but it's really a drama, sci-fi, whatever you want to call it, except a comedy, which is why so many were surprised when it was nominated in that category.
