I live in a city of 800,000, There is no town next to us. There are a handful of bedroom communities on the outskirts of the city.

My town holds the title of Beer City USAand has a population of almost 200,000 with 40+ breweries. The nearby town has a mere 39,000 people and is known as Tulip CIty. Beer vs Flowers is not even a contest.

I live in an unincorporated community, so not in a town. The communities to the North, West, East and South are also unincorporated so other than the name, very little if any difference. County provides law enforcement, fire, sewer, schools, garbage pickup for all of us. Water districts are odd here. I think there are 4 different ones in just my community, 3 publicly owned, 1 a for profit company, and then there are the folks with no water district, every house has it's own domestic water well.
