Nailing focus... *focus test 11/9*

I might not be speaking for everyone here, but I don't think you are welcome here. Seriously.

You aren't speaking for me. I'll leave it to the mods to say who isn't welcome here. I'd prefer to see this stay an open and welcoming place, even for people with whom I disagree.

I agree, wbeem wrote nothing that would warrant being unwelcome on this board.

I obviously do not have a problem with differing opinions or I wouldn't be friends with many of you regulars on here. With the way many people have become selfish and immature in our society, I don't put up with their rude or condescending behavior anymore. Unfortunately, this site has become a place that can not self moderate at all because the people calling out poor behavior end up being the ones in trouble. As much as it goes against what I would normally do, I think being a tattle tale is the way to handle things on here. I am pretty much going to ignore him from here on out and I hope he does the same for me.

I recommend the "Add to Ignore List" option. Of course, that's why so few people see my posts (and why I think no one sees any of KramBerries posts). I recommend using it for rtphokie and ChiSoxKeith as they are both unrepentant trouble makers. And throw GDad in there too, but only because his pictures annoy me.

Is Kramberries "semi retired" too?

I tried to do a focus test. i did both. the chart and the batteries. They were set up on a different angle though.

The chart was taped on the wall and i put the camera on a tripod at a 45 degree angle. I used the 2 second timer to try not to be touching the camera when it took. I don't have a remote. I was to the right of the chart making the angle.

Then i took the batteries and lined them up and put the camera at a 45 degree angle to the left (due to lighting.... its about to rain here). i focused on the middle battery

So far, looks like you have a little front focus issue, either with the camera or with that lens. I'd try just to be sure getting a little closer to the batteries and chart so they fill the frame a bit more, and come in at an even slightly steeper side angle to them - and use your aperture wide-open. No question, the chart is front focused, and it does look like the batteries are slightly so as well.

Looks like some front focus. Get in closer, physically closer. That will give even shallower depth of field and give you a better idea of where focus is falling.
